I made the mistake of buying a few sets of these instead of Aquila Nylguts (because I didn't believe the hype.) Although the D'Addario strings are OK, the combination of a wound 3rd & their overall feel & tonal characteristics left much to be desired on my Tenor Uke. I play a lot of finger style, & sadly these strings sound unbalanced (with the 1st & 4th seeming somewhat louder than the 2nd & 3rd). Tone-wise they are LOUD, but they seem to actually not reproduce many of the nice subtle harmonic properties of the instrument & sound both brighter, yet somehow less distinct in tone. One "good" thing I can say about these is that they *can* be played very hard - (so plectrum players might like 'em),... but they don't really have the sound I like. Spend the little extra & buy yourself a set of Aquila strings instead - they surpass these in all categories.
