Modular Synthesis
The first System 55, 35 and 15 synth modules came out in the early 70s and tended to be extremely expensive. They were mainly all discrete transistor designs as op-amps at the time were very high cost. The discrete circuitry gave the modules a very distinctive sound and were used by artists like Keith Emerson, Stevie Wonder, Tangerine Dream and so many more, giving us some of the greatest records we've ever heard. Modular synths were a landmark development in electronic music and today, it's about to get better.
960 SEQUENCER CONTROLLER
Enter the Behringer 960 SEQUENCER CONTROLLER. An authentic reproduction of the circuitry from the "Modular 55" series used by the world's most famous pop, rock and jazz musicians. Now you can build your very own, unique synthesizer that can fit in a standard Eurorack case for a very affordable price. Mix and match with specific modules to customize your synth and complement the genre of music you play or go all out and have a room filled from floor to ceiling with modules that'll fulfill any synth geek's wildest dreams.
8 Steps of Awesome
The 960 SEQUENCER CONTROLLER is an 8-step sequencer with 3 rows of CV controls for adjusting the pitch of a signal at that stage. An additional 9th step can be used to stop the sequence. Plug in a Behringer 962 SEQUENTIAL SWITCH and transform the 960 from an 8-step sequencer into a 24-step giant capable of creating more intricate sequences and beats.
Set the Stage
More sequence variations can be achieved by switching any of the desired Stage Mode switches to Normal, which lets the current stage proceed to the next one; Skip, which lets you bypass the stage; or Stop, to freeze the sequence. You can even manually trigger each stage by pressing the respective Set button. Create an 8-step sequence then set the 960 to skip every other stage to have a staccato rhythm and spice up a song.
The Oscillator
The 960 also comes with an oscillator where you can adjust the oscillator range or pitch with the Frequency Range knob and fine tune that with the Frequency Vernier knob. You can also manually start or stop the oscillator with the on and off buttons or connect an external gate signal to control the on/off status. A control input is available for you to connect another module to tweak the oscillator frequency of the 960 and expand its flexibility.
Eurorack Ready
Installing the 960 SEQUENCER CONTROLLER is simple as it was designed to fit into a standard Eurorack case. Just connect the power cables to the power supply and mount the module using the included screws. This allows for the 960 SEQUENCER CONTROLLER to be mixed with other synth modules for a truly unique set up.
