Have been using these gel pads for a while, really help with dampening or taking the ring out of rack toms or any one of your drums i use them on my DW performance series and love them, prefer the clear, always buy them at L&M

Moongel is also a stylus cleaner for turntables. Lower the stylus on to a pad, count to one and lift the stylus. Voila a squeaky clean stylus. Don't let the gel move when the stylus is down. This method is safer and more thorough than a brush or fluids.

I bought my gels at a drum-specific store but the next two I will be picking up at L&M.
I originally bought these to take the tympani out of my floor tom but these gels are the cat's pajamas. No residue and I have had great results changing placement of the gels.
I am finally able to tweak the desired sound out of my drums.

I had a really bad ring in my snare and i tried everything to get rid of it but everything i tried would change the way my snare sounded so i tried this product it took 2 gels one on top skin and one on lower skin and it did not change the way my snare sounded but i no longer have that annoying ring, i couldn't believe that little gel pad made that big a difference, i've seen a few place's that sell them but Long And McQuade has the best price.

Throw off your snare wire, stick one moon gel under each side of your snare wire, close the throw off and adjust to reduce buzz and rattle. They need to be re-positioned frequently but work better than nothing at all.

I picked this product up at a independant shop, and the guy wanted $12 for it... my band has been asking for a dampener for our practice sessions for a while, and I've tried tape/rubber/paper over skins which all affected the feel of the stick. This product had the LEAST effect on feel, and was the MOST easily converted back to original (or increase or decrease in dampening in regards to placement of "gel").
L&M has the best price for them I've seen - I'm buying 3 more packs so I can get all my heads and cymbals if needed!
