Schott Valse Espagnole, Op. 57
In addition to demanding concert pieces, Ernesto Khler (1849-1907) wrote mainly methodical literature and play music in the romantic style, reminiscent of the small forms of Chopin, Schumann or Brahms, and which are still an integral part of flute lessons, school concerts and the Jugend musiziert competition. The Valse Espagnole op. 57, an expressive character piece for lessons and concerts, also falls into this category.
