Compression on the master bus was a necessity in the early days of broadcast to make sure the live-transmitted signal did not blow up the listeners' speakers at home. Controlling the final dynamics is still paramount today, but back in the day, music producers quickly noticed the sweet "glue-like" effect a quality compressor on the master bus would add to a stereo mix - the way it would gently gather the individual tracks and unite them in a way that made them sound uniform and powerful at the same time. Well, one of the most famous stereo compressors from that era - the legendary Neve 33609 - inspired the creation of the Behringer 369.

And 369 is actually not that far from home. It is more than just a remake, as the legacy and DNA of the original Neve 33609 flows through the veins of the 369. Our engineering team has members, who have personally worked with Rupert Neve himself, imparting valuable knowledge and experience during development and ensuring the 369 is as faithful to the original as humanly possible. Rupert Neve was a legend and pioneer in the audio engineering industry, having fathered some of the most iconic audio gear ever created - 33609 included!

Dual Channel Operation
The 369 is both a compressor and limiter that offers two distinct modes to control the dynamics of any audio signal passing through. The compressor section gives you a more subtle and musical compression while the limiter section clamps down on peaks in your audio signal more aggressively. Each section is equipped with rotary switches, allowing for precise and repeatable settings, which means consistent compression for every recording or mastering session. You can even set both channels at exactly the same settings if that is what your mix demands.

The Golden Ratio
The 369 compressor gives you plenty of controls, offering a smooth and musical approach to sculpting the dynamic range without compromising your signal's natural characteristics or the vibe you spent time on recording and mixing. Adjustable Threshold, Recovery, Gain and Ratio controls allow you to set when the compression kicks in, how fast it grabs your sound and when it lets go of it again. With compression ratios from 1.5:1 up to 6:1, 369 can be as gentle or aggressive as your track needs it to be to sound its best. Presets on the Recovery set a defined baseline decay time that automatically adapts to the signal introduced into the 369 - smooth operation and musical dynamics are finally united.

Time to Clamp Down
The 369's Limiter takes a more aggressive approach to controlling peaks and dynamics than the compressor part of the unit. Threshold determines at what specific level the Limiter engages while Recovery controls how fast the Limiter bounces back to normal. With a recovery range from 50 to 800 milliseconds this allows you to work with the Threshold level, a fast or slow Attack time along with Recovery time to make your final mix pump the dance floor or tame those peaks in a more subtle manner - or find that tasty sweetspot somewhere in between.

Additional Controls
Being a two-channel compressor, you can set 369 to stereo or mono operation at the flick of a switch. You can also bypass each compressor and limiter individually for increased flexibility. Further, the Control switch lets you to toggle between Internal control, allowing you to adjust Mono/Stereo and Bypass functions front panel itself, or External control for remote control via a mixer such as the Behringer WING or any other custom-built remote-control device connected to the Tandem Control Voltage socket on the rear panel.

Ready for Your Studio!
The 2U rackmount chassis of the 369 is extremely sturdy and while born for taking up just a few units of your precious rack real estate, it happily sits in a rack case if you sometimes record on location or want to use it for live sound applications where portability and mobility are key. Either way, 369 is sure to be a perfect fit in your world of pristine dynamics control.

Amazing Value
You want flexible stereo compression, as well as powerful and legendary precision that adds the final dynamic touch hits are made of - and you will find exactly that in the Behringer 369!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
