She holds bachelors and masters degrees in horn performance and music education from the Eastman School of Music and a doctorate in music education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Over 100 research articles by Dr. Conway on the topics of music education curriculum, assessment, research, and policy appear in all of the major music education journals. Dr. Conway is the Editor-in-Chief of Arts Education Policy Review. This is her eighth book.
