Taylor's 100 Series makes a great guitar-playing experience accessible to everyone with these all-real-wood instruments and the 114ce Sunburst Special Edition is no exception. Using Taylor's versatile grand auditorium shape, Taylor brings a suite of improvements to what is already an incredible sounding instrument. The 114ce Sunburst Special Edition features a torrefied Sitka spruce top for added sonic depth, richness and responsiveness. Tone-enhancing C-Class bracing adds volume and low-end presence to create a guitar that generates a lot of punch and volume.

An attractive Tobacco sunburst and layered Sapele back and sides adorn an internal architecture that has been optimized for even more volume and dynamics. This instrument was designed with a cutaway to allow easy access to the upper frets. Genuine West-African ebony is used for the fretboard and bridge to give players the feel and performance that only comes from this amazing wood. Taylor's famous neck profile makes this instrument easy to play up and down the fingerboard.

Taylor's ES2 Electronic System is used to faithfully reproduce the player's performance, while offering an easy plug-in-and play solution. This instrument ships in a durable Taylor Structured Gig Bag for added protection and easy portability.

Body Shape
A Taylor original, the Grand Auditorium helped establish the Taylor acoustic sound. The popular body shape is an extremely versatile guitar that responds to light fingerpicking, medium strumming and fingerstyle playing with a clear, balanced sound across the tonal spectrum. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the GA is an excellent choice.

Tone Woods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. A Torrefied Sitka spruce top increases the dynamic range, balance, and projection between each note that is played. The notes have a longer sustain and the dynamic responsiveness has been improved to create a guitar tone that generates a lot of punch and volume.

Layered sapele back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

Electronics
Taylor's ES2 is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor's ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor's patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. Because the pickup doesn't sit under the saddle, the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the nuance of the guitar's tone to come through clearly whether playing acoustically or plugged-in.

The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before while playing plugged-in. Together with Taylor's custom-designed "professional audio"-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. The Taylor Expression System 2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, bass and treble controls.

The Taylor Difference
What sets Taylor Guitars apart? Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

bought this on a whim after trying it out at the Brampton location and i'm just blown away by how much value is in the 114CE. The build quality is honestly flawless. there is no fault on this guitar and i'm an absolute stickler but no matter how much i look, i cannot for the life of me find a fault with this one. The build quality is every bit as good as my 314CE and the classic dot inlays and sunburst finish give it a classic scaled back look that i personally love and prefer. Playability wise the smaller nut width makes this guitar an absolute joy to play and it feels like an electric neck which is a feeling i absolutely love. The neck has a very nicely applied satin finish is just oh so perfect. The tone of this guitar is just insane, especially for this price point. This guitar punches WAY above it's league and can go toe to toe with my 314CE or 224CE any day. The layered (aka laminate) Sapele back and sides are really nicely built and make this guitar sound awesome. I can't find a real difference between the layered Sapele on the 114CE and the solid Sapele on 314CE. I've owned several more expensive acoustics that just paled in comparison. This guitar is a pleasant surprise and can genuinely please anyone. HIGHLY recommend to anyone who wants a high performing acoustic without breaking the bank.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
