The goal of this book is not to teach you all there is to know about the Blues. It is designed, rather, to introduce the beginner to the basic Blues form as well as to clear up a few things about the Blues which may puzzle the beginner.
Each exercise can be played alone or be accompanied by a rhythm section. In addition, each page can be played by two players as a duet. For the more knowledgeable and experienced players, these exercises can be used as background figures behind a soloist. You can also practice 4 part harmony writing with these and use them in a big band setting. Basically, the more you do with these exercises, the more you will learn about the jazz and harmonic applications of The Blues.
