Cherry Classics These Cloud-capp'd Towers - Forsyth - Trombone/Piano - Book
Additional Photos:
Composer: Malcolm Forsyth
Format: Book
Instrumentation: Trombone and Piano Reduction
Written for Canadian Trombone virtuoso, Alain Trudel, this piece was premiered in 1991. This version for Trombone and Piano is a reduction by the composer from the score for full orchestra.
Being a Trombonist himself, Forsyth has written the work in an idiomatic way. The two movements are as follows: "Melancolico, ma con moto" and "Vivo e nervoso". The two movements of about twelve minutes in length are to be performed as one and are composed for the virtuoso performer.
This brilliant work is full of contrasts and includes a range of over three and a half octaves and an extended cadenza.
