Love this instrument
So much sweetness in tone
Such easy playing. This guitar seems to teach you.
A pleasure to play so it will be your "go too".
Extra responsive. Rich tones and stay in tune - great for blues, lead rock, and mellow country
It out performs my American Strat Deluxe.

What a great guitar! I've played Fenders and Gibsons and a few others over the decades but more recently I'd been exclusively Gibson Les Paul and ES 339. When I remembered a Strat and a Tele I had back in the '70s I began missing the feel of the longer scale, brighter voicing, and a feel that seemed to provide better results the more one wrestled with it. The only thing I hated was the hum. I tried a good number of Strats in different lines and decided I didn't like the soft V neck of the EJ even though it did feel better the second time I tried it. When I tried the only JB model available at the time in Edmonton it was magical. It fit my hand perfectly and had tone for days. The setup was great, and there was no hum! The pickups are able to drive my Mesa Boogie very well and on the burn channel it's like hum buckers on steroids. Everyone is different but this one was perfect for me. I still have the ES 339 and together with the JB artist model I have enough options (for the moment).

I have two Gibsons and a Gretsch and now this Jeff Beck Strat. Wow! I love it! It sounds sweet. It makes me want to play. It’s sounds good with any style but especially great played clean with lead riffs and blues. Also great with distortion. The quality is great. Noiseless picks up are perfect.

I purchased this guitar last October and it has quickly become my favourite. The ceramic pickups are fantastic. They really scream when played aggressively but are capable of clean tones when necessary. The neck is slightly thicker than a typical American Strat and the body feels slightly heavier but overall the guitar is very playable. Great blues/rock guitar. Worth every penny.

Wow what a guitar! Love the Surf Green colour , the neck feels amazing! great action !well set up right out of the case! stays in tune even after some hard whammy action!. Plays very smooth with the LSR roller nut. Guitar was brought in from another store and did not take to long (couple business days)YaYY I can finally sleep! =)) whew. it arrived in Perfect condition with all the tags and case candy. The tweed case is a nice touch. well built and well balanced altho this wont be staying in the case much =). quick order/delivery time and great service as usual! AWSOME GUITAR. thanks to the staff at LM Mississauga!

I've always been a Gibson guy. My les Paul was always my #1 , not it seems as tho it is collecting dust. This is partly because of my recent purchase of a Jeff Beck Strat. I love this guitar and the hot pickups. It is my go to guitar for blues/rock, with the smooth tones overall great feel I give this guitar a 5 Star rating. I still love my Les Paul, but I now feel I have the best of both worlds!

After buying a Strat in the late-90s, I thought that there weren't too many mods that could be done to Strat yet still not muck with the Strat sound. I was very wrong. This 2012 Strat is a well-crafted, finely-tuned instrument that has practical improvements. This guitar is not specifically for Jeff Beck fans...he uses a prototype with a basswood body, the older Strat Plus-type roller nut (not the LSR), and uses Suhr pickups. This guitar is for Strat fans, period. The *only* thing that I felt was not meeting my needs were the pickups that were voiced a bit too modern and 'hot' for my musical tastes. Yes, the sound of the Strat comes through, but I crave vintage tones so I have replaced the pickups. It is now my #1 and I cannot imagine having a Strat that could possibly meet my needs any better.

Fender’s best signature guitar. Yngwie is a close second. Eric Johnson is a close third. The feel of the neck is the most noticeable thing. It is a bit thicker than a normal C shaped neck but thinner than earlier versions of the Jeff Beck (boat neck) Signature Strat. It feels better. Ceramic pickups instead of Alnico. Noiseless ceramic. When you are bending your strings high up on the neck the pole pieces in an Alnico pickup need lose volume because their magnetic fields are very narrow. Ceramic pickups have wider pickup patterns and are less susceptible to dropouts. Especially noticeable on the American Stand Strats that cam out a few years ago. After experiencing a number of dropouts while string-bending I researched and found that Jeff Beck had similar concerns, His solution was the new Jeff Beck Signature Strat which has enough mods to convince me to dump the American Stand Strat; which I did last year in a heartbeat after I had a chance to try out a Jeff Beck Strat. I wish the tremolo arm was a drop in type and not a screw in type but that is minor. I normally prefer a maple neck and transparent/woodgrain finish on the body but the Jeff Beck Strat had enough going for it for me to overlook those preferences. Many guitar techs will tell you the Jeff Beck Strat is the best high end Strat to get for tuning stability, playability, noiseless pickups, and no string trees (when the angle of the strings from the nut to the tuning pegs is aligned properly there is no need for string trees which causes undesirable friction for the strings. Play this guitar thru an amp and you will see how it sings. A very evolved guitar that has all the best elements of modern electric guitar design.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
