First off, I have some experience crowning frets. I used to do it with home made diy tools- triangle block and sandpaper, then I bought a baroque file and just used a sharpie and a magnifying glass, then I bought a Dremel, then I bought micro mesh and fret erasers, then I bought...etc
If you've NEVER crowned frets before...BUY THIS TOOL! You will ruin your guitar learning
Aspects of fret crowning using cheap Amazon tools that this thing just teaches you. All you NEED, is this tool, the stewmac fret kisser and a $15 pack of assorted sandpaper and steel wool. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON overseas manufactured LUTHIER TOOLS! Your time is worth money and this tool saves you both in the long run and the immediate future. You'll see what I mean when you feel the quality. It is both soft, nice feeling and a little heavy, like a baby

I bought this file to dress the frets on my custom shop Stratocaster. I was nervous unnecessarily, it was vey easy to use and I could feel when the file had done its job, just as promised in the instructions from Music Nomad.
A bit expensive, but it would have cost more to use a cheaper tool that allowed me to damage the frets.
