Composer: Mark Wood
Format: Score and Parts
Instrumentation: String Orchestra
Level: 3.5
The composer writes: "I wrote Bach to Rock as a tribute to the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach. I wanted to showcase the beauty of the 17th century with a more contemporary rock feel. The themes, particularly the opening idea, are primarily Baroque in approach."
The rock aspects of the work are in the harmonies and, of course, the use of the optional rock and roll rhythm section consisting of piano, guitar, bass, and drums.
