Yorkville's compact 50KW "omni-wedge" is designed for the professional musician or performer who needs a portable powered monitor or instrument/vocal amplifier that travels well. Two input channels with a selection of 1/4-inch, XLR or RCA inputs mean the 50KW can connect to virtually any source from PA or recording desk to keyboard instrument, recorded media source, acoustic/electric guitar and/or a microphone. Effects can be patched-in and the Headphone jack disconnects the 2-way 10-inch/horn-tweeter speaker system for silent practicing.

Solid plywood cabinet construction, black carpet covering, curved perforated all-metal grille and a recessed control panel ensure the 50KW will perform flawlessly night after night.

This was a really good sounding amplifier, and I have always found Yorkville products to be solidly built. However my 50KW Power Wedge has failed at the three year mark. Bought this to play with a band that folded after the first practice. It has not been abused, but sat in my basement only to be taken out a handful of times over the last couple years. Finally set it up in my studio a month ago to use with my CP30, and within that month it failed. So less than a hundred hours all it does is screech. Have not contacted Yorkville yet to see about repair, it's out of warranty so I will have to make a decision if I want to spend the money on it, but I have to say I am very disappointed. I never even took the manufacturer or price tags off!!

I love it. It sounds great and is built well but wow that price tag. $490 plus taxes. I got one used and it is such a cool piece of gear. Instrument amp, monitor, party speaker for around the pool, patio, etc.

After looking for a speaker for home playing - and to use as a stage monitor - from a mixer and for standalone PA if necessary, I finally found this gem. OMG! It is simply the best out there. The sound is so clean. I had speakers with too much bass or with no depth and it is really hard to practice miked sounds without a quality speaker. The Power Wedge performs every purpose possible from small room powered speaker to stage monitor for big performances. Cannot believe the quality of sound from this box!

Bought these for keyboard monitors. I have two sets. They are very versatile and I have run additional feeds in from other equipment. They sound excellent.

my band has used one of these for a few different applications for about a year, and here's what Iv got to say: -This speaker is very high heavy, very shrill, it sounds like a giant piezo tweeter. Once we used it with an electric violin and it caused pain -It has no midrange. It sounds empty and hollow when used with a keyboard -It has no reverb control, so not the best for singers -it has no line out -it's eq only has two knobs, low and high -beamy projection BUT -even though it's used and seems pretty old, it shows no signs of quitting -its pretty light and easy to carry -ok volume -wedge shape makes it easy to adjust position

These amps do what they say.(and more) I own 2 and use them 1. To run a midi keyboard through, makes my stereo organ (you know - that simulated big wooden box with the rotary speaker thing) sound great, Chorus's great too!...I take a line off 1 to the PA and off the other to a sub 2. as monitors - light and enough EQ to do a great job - and angled or not - whatever 3. small gig - everything/anything into it - admittedly could use reverb on the channel 1 for a mic (however I plug my mic into my keyboard with great reverb :) Stereo (or should I say 'dual') lines on CH2 are handy 4. Lent it to a friend to play his CD player though at a private party. You can even 'dj' with these things. (Actually I don't use the term DJ anymore, it's 'space bars' now.) 5. I used them once when client wanted 'the band to be in 2 rooms at once' - line off PA speakers (or from unpowered mixer) very useful in a huge room to 'expand the PA' - also handy for dinner music in large room to disperse the sound. 6. Client says (while setting up) 'hurry up I need to make an announcement' Plug mic into this and voila! So... my only knocks - some sort of reverb on CH1 would be handy, as would a dedicated 'sub' out

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
