Baerenreiter Verlag Adagio and Fugue for Strings in C minor K. 546 - Mozart/Plath - Score/Parts
Additional Photos:
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Editor: Wolfgang Plath
Format: Score and Parts, Urtext Edition
Instrumentation: Strings
In 1783 Mozart, fascinated by the counterpoint of J. S. Bach, wrote a Fugue K.426 for two Keyboards. Then in 1788 he re-arranged the Fugue for Strings and added a brief, but beautiful, Adagio.
The entire work lasts less than 10 minutes but is a fantastic example of Mozart's late compositional excellence.
