Theodore Presser At Night
A set of three short nocturnes emphasizes the singing quality of the flute. Schocker explores different aspects of the night in three short movements — R u sleeping?, Sultry Night, and Darkened Room — each reflective of its suggested subject. Schocker seeds each set piece with catchy melodic and memorable phrases in this cycle written for Fred Marcusa, a fellow concert flutist and New York Flute Club member. Total duration: 7’
