Carl Fischer Studies In Lyricism
One of the most difficult aspects of playing a wind instrument is to incorporate the lyrical qualities of the human voice. Serious students on wind instruments spend a good portion of their time playing etudes that emphasize beauty of tone and elegance of phrasing to improve their total musicianship. These studies have been carefully chosen from the music of Concone, Marchesi and Panofka and are organized in a progressive order for advancing students. These etudes are a welcome addition to the repertoire as fine introductions to the standard lyrical etudes that are more geared toward the college/university/conservatory student. This is a must have set of studies for the student that is seriously preparing for the next level of playing.
