This Keyboard Arrangements series contains all of Bach's arrangements of foreign compositions. The arrangements were probably created on behalf of Prince Johann Ernst of Sachsen-Weimar around 1713/1714. The concert arrangements are evidence of Bach's intensive engagement with the then new Italian concert art and its leading exponent, Antonio Vivaldi.
