Additional Photos:
Author: Kathy Blocki
Format: Book
Instrumentation: Flute (Piano Accompaniment book available separately)
The Flute Zoo Solo Book includes 13 new and exciting solos with piano accompaniment. (The Flute Zoo Solo Piano Accompaniment book is sold separately.) These fun solos are perfect for students' first few years of recital pieces or for solo and ensemble competitions.
This progressive solo book begins with pieces that uses only three notes. Despite being simple to play the students love these original pieces. Snowflake Frolic uses only G, A, and B but also includes lyrics that turns it into a mini story to portray. Again Bamboo Bandit (uses 4 notes) portrays the story of Panda bear munching on bamboo who wants to eat YOUR bamboo flute!
The Swan Song is an ABA form which begins and ends with a beautiful flowing melody, while the middle section is in style of an Irish dance.
Ode to Joy, Yankee Doodle and London Bridge are all Theme and Variations--our students absolutely love these and we hope yours do too! While students learn these variations they again become quite adept with easily changing between octaves.
Big Apple Buzz is full of engery representing a busy day in New York City, while Cobb County Fair begins with an exciting hoedown while middle section includes a beautiful soaring melody.
