I have been renting this LP from the Pickering Long ad McQuade since March and it's become a part of the family. I have already purchased four other Epis, two SG's a Casino and a Kat. The LP completes the family tree and I plan to buy it for Christmas. I especially like the Gibson Burstbuckers in the neck position. The Custom shop has really pulled out the stops on this one. It has the best attributes of a Gibson, but without the price tag.

I purchased this Epiphone from the North York store and had it transferred from the Markham location.
Bought as a demo model, and it was in mint condition and came with all the tags and promo goods in the case.
Plays amazing and sound blows me away. Took it back to the Markham location for the free set- up and it plays like a dream.

Was very impressed with it's features given there are so many different affordable LPs. The pickups and electronics make this a winner. Les Paul's are a new challenge for me. The neck profile, frets, pickups and making it all work in my rig is the fun challenge. Only played it a few times but impressed with the sustain and playability. So different than my other guitars.

The tones rock with the Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups, I didn't have any issues with sharp fret ends like others, maybe I just got lucky. The quality is inspired by custom shop, and the weight is comparable to most les Paul's. Love it. Big thanks to Neil thomson-Turner at the Abbotsford store for hooking me up with this beautiful beast.

Got this a couple of weeks ago from L&M Langley. Great guitar and tremendous value. Sounds great, and the volume pots clean up the sound well. The frets were a bit gritty, and the ends somewhat sharp, but these minor issues are easily handled with a setup (which every new guitar should get anyway.) The neck is great, but this is a personal preference. I have two other Gibson Les Pauls and dollar for dollar; these Epi 59s are great value. Girard and the team from the Langley store are always great to work with.

I'll try to be very objective here. Looks are subjective, but to me I love the look of this one. The finish is very nice, not sticky at all behind the neck like a lot of glossy Epiphones.
The guitar plays very well, and sounds VERY GOOD. I don't really miss a Gibson from the point of the sound. Let's be real, the Gibson IS A BETTER guitar, don't fool yourself thinking this is better, but the choice of this VS a cheapest Gibson Tribute for a bit more money is your call. I made mine and got this. However from the past experience with Gibsons, their quality control is absolutely SPOT ON, this one is well built altogether, the tuners are amazing, the pickups being Gibson Burstbuckers are sick, and the wiring is great, but the frets are a bit of a let down here. I would've preferred seeing chunkier frets, and the finish on them here is not the best. They feel made out of cheap metal and they're a bit scratchy, sometimes choking out on bends. How can a 12" radius fretboard choke while my 7.25" tele doesn't? I spent a lot of time polishing mines, Gibson plecks their guitars for comparison so the fretwork is perfect there. Action was too high out of the box but you can't lower it too much before you get the buzz and choke out without doing a lot of adjustments to the bridge height and setting the neck curvature. The case is great, I actually love the pink interior on it in person, even though in videos it seemed weird but in real life it's absolutely fitting this guitar great. I thought it was weird you don't get an allen key to adjust the neck because my neck had too much bow into it when I got it. Some people could use a smaller allen key and damage the truss rod pocket - use 4mm for Epiphones please.
Overall I'm very pleased with it, the only downside is the fretwork for me, but if you're willing to spend some time on it or send it to a luthier for a good setup, this guitar won't disappoint you at all. It ain't no Gibson, but it's a real Les Paul for sure. I recommend this guitar but if you don't know much about guitar setup, pay someone to do it for you and you'll enjoy it far more than straight off the shelf.

So awhile ago I tried a Epiphone custom shop pro lespaul and was very pleasantly surprised, down the line an acquired various gibson lespaul’s , tributes, studio’s , classics and standards. I cannot speak about custom shops, haven’t had the pleasure yet. Let me tell you the cream that came out of that Epiphone lespaul was on par to any Gibson I had tried, this sparked my interest in Epiphone and bang for buck. The 59 lespaul is nothing less than incredible at this price point beautiful tone and playability. The tone variations that you can achieve with just the tone knobs is fantastic. Epiphone has been hitting it out of the park lately and this one is incredible

What can I say other than this is a fantastic offering from Epiphone. Partnering with Gibson Custom shop has certainly been a success. This guitar is a beautiful work of art and very few corners were cut to maintain affordability. Measures up to many current American made Gibsons. Great value, includes a hard shell case which is usually non existent at this price point. I must comment on the excellent customer service provided by Sean at the London South store. Wonderful to work with, accommodating and answered all my queries and questions.

My first "adult" electric after years of playing acoustics and ancient entry-level knock-offs, and it's a massive jump in quality. The look is classic Les Paul, the wide fretboard is the perfect transition from acoustic playing, and the finish lets me glide up and down the neck seamlessly. I was toying with the 1950's and 1960's Epi LPs, but this is the one that grabbed me and never let me go. Fantastic sustain, great tone, you will love it.

Epiphone Nailed it with this Gibson endorsed collaboration. The result is an epiphone worthy of Gibson status . The Body is a Perfect replication of a 59 , the hardware, pickups are Gibson, The CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, 59 wirins, Mallowy pots are the Identical ones found on Gibsons USA line ...
The feel, the tone, the build is 100% as good if not better than some bibson lines.
When I bought mine, I went in to actually buy a Gibson studio in smokehouse burst , but it was a weight reduced chambered body and to me it didn't Feel like a Les Paul should feel in my mind. I have gotten accustomed to a certain weight around my shoulders and I Just wasn't feeling the Studio , The Store employee handed me a 59 in Royal tea burst ,I grabbed it, sat t on my lao and before even plugging it in I was buying that guitar ...
I ended up with one in Iced Tea burst which is a Little bit lighter but stunning ....
I look at it and am torn between wanting to the light out of it, or saving it so pristine as I have a feeling these will become Very desirable ...
I play it daily, I just don't take it on stage or gigs
Best epiphone ever built and I include the slash versions..
The 59 and the Joe Bonnamasa Lazarus are Identical specked , The Lazarus is my next purchase

Got this guitar last week out of L&M Mississauga. Every new guitar I get, I immediately clean and set them up to my preference. I also use Elixir 10-46s Optiwebs on my Gibson scales and 9-42s on my Strats. I have had dozens of Epi LPs over the years and was never satisfied mainly due to the slim taper D necks on them but also could not get the sound I was looking for. And loving LPs when I saw this one available I bit on it right away. Unbelievable workmanship and fine tuned to a T….neck relief was bang on, intonation was perfect, bindings, finish work and frets were well done and even truss cavity was clean. Tuners on these are outstanding and the nut is cut perfect. G stays in tune (unlike any others I have owned) and pups were set correctly. Rounded C neck is beefy but not too beefy and feels like a real LP. Unplugged it rings and you can actually feel the resonance of it. When plugged in (I only use my DAW and Guitar Rig Pro 5 these days, quieter and easier to record that way) it absolutely sings. On my blues settings I can control everything I want with volume and tone pots and same for distorted, delayed or pop/country sounds. In the high registers it absolutely screams when you want it to and sustain is unbelievable for a guitar at this price point. For musicians still doing road work, get one of these and a MIM Players Series Strat HSS and you will sound as good as anyone out there. I am a huge fan of these inspired by Gibson models. I also have the Hummingbird and J200. All of them are absolute gems and very well built…there are no gimmicks just quality professional instruments. Highly recommended and I am hard to please. Am also a long time customer of L&M and cannot speak enough of their prompt and quality services. Dealt with many of their locations in New Brunswick and Toronto area.

Similar to what others have said, Epiphone has really upped their game recently and it’s exciting to see what else they’re going to do with the Custom Shop since this was such a big hit. I did a lot of research before buying this and the quality is fantastic.
Pros: quality control is obvious on this one, Gibson pickups sound great, excellent sustain, stays in tune even after frequent bends, nice weight, hard shell case is a bonus these days
Cons: Indian Laurel fingerboard - to each their own but I think there’s a big difference with Rosewood, the Indian Laurel looked at felt very dry, once I put a coat of oil on it I noticed an improvement, it would have been nice to see Rosewood on a limited edition like this one, the only real disappointment, some may not like the veneer finish if you like gloss but it’s well done and is growing on me.
In the end…buy one while you can!

contrary to some online reviews black fingers are from strings not fretboard stain. I have several Gibson's with less quality build and finish. Good setup, good finish, great sound (tuned to open E for bottleneck). Fingerboard is tight grain with even frets and aged dark burst body is beautiful 50's look. Case is finished a tad rough inside but overall a great package I would recommend to anyone Pro or average Joe. Better sound than "57's, 490R and 498T in many ways (have 26 guitars to compare). A truly great deal for the price. Bought at L&M Nanaimo )2/2/21 and received mid April/21. Faster than I expected. Grain on the face of the body is almost perfectly matched in the centre for a great looking book-fold pattern. That lovely young lady Ashley also gave me a free Gibson Les Paul (pen) since it was April. Thanks Ashley. Stay safe all!!

other than dressing a few frets being required the guitar is finished great and looks great in dark burst. case looks pretty good but inside finishing leaves a little to be desired with neck support sides with exposed fabric cut ends at top but not a big deal. setup is pretty good. strings are crappy and leave your fingers black as some of the reviewers have noted but will be changed to D'Addario 10-46.

I`ve had this guitar for 2 months now (thank you L&M Moncton).
This guitar feels and sounds as good (actually better) than my USA Les Paul traditional. CTS pots, Burstbucker 2 & 3, switchcraft toggle switch and input jack...I mean you cant go wrong. The neck is pretty chunky but it took only 10-15 mins of playing to get used to it...i love the neck on this!! Killer tone, plenty of sustain and this guitar just simply stays in tune!! I gave it a 4.5 in quality only because one of my tuning pegs has a little bit of play in it (nothing the warranty wont take care of). I gave 4.5 for the value because...well a week after i bought this guitar from L&M their price went down about $90. Im still happy with this guitar and it is a keeper...why own a Usa les paul for $2000 more when you can own this?(Unless you go custom shop) get this and you will not be dissapointed!

Incredible value for the money. Mine has a 2-piece centre seam mahogany back - unheard of at this price range. Add in a sweet case and basically the same electronics as a USA Standard, and it’s no wonder they’re getting stellar reviews.
In my opinion, the only major differences between this and a standard that’s $2,000 more are the veneer top (wish they just offered a plain maple top), poly vs nitro, and the logo on the headstock. Sure there are other hardware differences but for the 99% of us, no one is going to notice a difference.
Buy one... if you can find one.

I own this guitar for a few days and I can tell this is some serious piece of gear. First of all, it's gorgeous. The finish and quality control is very good on mine. Some tool marks on the neck's binding but nothing to worry about. Nothing else to complain about, the setup is perfect right out of the box. You'll need to condition the fretboard since it's so dry.
When it comes down to the sound, it's a Les Paul. Like, it really is. Forever sustain, fat sound, the Gibson humbuckers are hot and precise. I like the way the highs are driven, makes it very articulate.
The neck is a joy to play, at least for me. I'm a tele fan, and I have small hands :) The shape is perfect, not too big, not too thin, excellent grip but you can still move around.
I don't know if it's "worth" a genuine Gibson, but I know after playing this baby that I won't need one now...
Get one while it lasts.

I love this guitar! It is the first guitar I’ve ever purchased that came with a perfect set up out of the box. Action exactly as specified. Intonation =perfect. Frets were all perfectly level. No string buzz at all. Quality control is amazing. This epiphone 59 reissue sounds amazing and the feel and playability is as good as my Gibsons. I was expecting to have to change the epiphone tuners but they are actualy better than any of my Grovers and Gotohs. This guitar stays on tune as well. Even the G string! Sorry about how long this review is but I am just blown away by this guitar. Epiphone has got it right. More Epiphone and Gibson custom shop collaborations in the future please!

I picked one of these up a few days ago. I’ve always been a slim neck guy. It took me about a day to realize how much I like chunky necks; especially on a guitar like this. The Gibson Burstbucker pickups are just excellent. They have that clear, under wound vintage sound, but with all the growl you need when you turn up the volume. Having bought Epiphones for my kids years ago that I was not wowed by, I had low expectations. This thing exponentially exceeded my expectations! It feels, plays and sounds like the real deal. Great job Epiphone!!

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
