Seminole Snake Dance is composed in the memory of and dedicated to Chief Enoch Kelly Haney. Mr. Haney (Seminole/Muscogee) was an internationally recognized artist from Oklahoma, served as Principal Chief of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and served as a member of both houses of the Oklahoma Legislature. He created the bronze statue, The Guardian, which sits atop the Oklahoma State Capitol. He was also a candidate for the office of Governor of Oklahoma and a well known humanitarian and mentor. I was honoured to call him my friend. - Jerod Tate
