With accessible range and rhythms well within young player's comfort zone, your students will be confident in playing this bluesy swing style chart. Adequate repetition, with just enough subtle change, allows the band to lock in, find the pocket, and sound mature. The chart swings hard. Your students will learn to groove on the more aggressive side of swing, playing with intention and feel, digging into the accents. Solos are based on a safe Bb Blues scale but you can encourage your students to explore the shift to the Db chord change during the solo section. Ideal for showcasing not only soloists but the entire ensemble.

Kjos FlexJazz -- This innovative new jazz series lets you create a jazz ensemble using any combination of instruments that are available. FlexJazz pieces are scored at the easiest levels and allow for maximum flexibility of instrumentation and instrument assignments. FlexJazz scores include four parts, plus parts for the rhythm section. Each of the four parts can be assigned to whatever instrumentation is available. As long as all four parts are covered, regardless of the instrumentation used, these pieces will sound full and complete.
