Plank Road Publishing Everyday Heroes - Jennings - Classroom - Kit/CD
Additional Photos:
Composer: Teresa Jennings
Format: Book with CD
Version: Kit (Piano/Vocal Part, Reproducible Singers Part) with Performance/Accompaniment CD
This poignant song is for all kinds of heroes - the ones who know they might have to be someday, and the ones who never meant to be. Either way, they are heroes and we owe them a debt of gratitude. We encourage you to invite your local heroes to your performance in acknowledgment, thanks, and respect for what they have done. Of course, this includes heroes of any and all events. Use it to honour the veterans in your community on Veterans Day or for Memorial Day.
Reminiscent of a British folk song, this dramatic anthem builds from a solo (chorus optional) to a powerful chorus, then winds back down for a quiet ending. The orchestration on the recording is haunting at first with the distant tones of a beautiful penny whistle, and builds to a rich orchestra when it is needed.
Many schools have told Plank Road how effective this song was in performance and just how much it meant to the honoured heroes and their families. (from Music K-8, Vol. 15, No. 1)
