Jean-Baptiste Duvernoy (French, c.1802-1880) was a Parisian pianist, composer, and teacher. About 1825 he began publishing several hundred easy piano pieces and a number of valuable piano studies. Relatively unknown today, he is remembered primarily for his 25 Elementary Studies, (Ecole primaire), Opus 176 and The School of Mechanism, 15 Studies (Ecole du mecanisme), Opus 120.
Minor editorial changes were made in this edition such as revised layouts, addressing duplicate or missing dynamics, suggested pedaling, and modifications to some slurs and fingering.
