The Ultimate in Sound and Comfort
The new Pirastro KorfkerRest® LUNA focuses on ease of use, comfort and tonal freedom. Its unique design and materials allow the violin to express an astonishing freedom of dynamic range, accuracy in response and trueness of timbre. Thanks to an ingenious snap-in system, personal adjustments are only one click away. The rounded shape of the KorfkerRest LUNA's cross section naturally fits the body's curves and eliminates the need for any tilt adjustment. Two soft pads focus body contact in two areas - shoulder and chest - avoiding the collar bone for instant and long lasting comfort.
A set of six differently sized and interchangeable barrel legs is provided which, once clicked in, become an integral and secure part of the rest. Depending on their orientation, each can occupy either a wide or narrow position. This not only allows the size of the KorfkerRest LUNA to be adjusted to the body of every violin from 3/4 to full size, it also enables subtle positioning closer to the shoulder or the chest of the player. One really needs to give this system a try to appreciate its full beauty and simplicity.

Let's get this out of the way; yes, this rest is too expensive. It is, however, very light and very strong. It won't cave out from under you and it stays in place with its super grippy material. Some may not like the curve, but I found it comfortable. It's probably the closest thing to playing without a shoulder rest, sound-wise (also weight-wise). I distain heavy shoulder rests as they force you to clamp with your chin more than necessary.
