It's a balance to get high quality but low profile and insulated ends.
While not insulated connectors, the profile still lets me squeeze over 8 pedals of a Boss profile, 1 being an 200 series, and a couple 2" odd balls on a board most would have 6 or 7.
The flatness looks nice when curled for top to side connections.
Great sound. Did I mention that? I have more harmonics than I need most times. That's a good thing.
