Yes, the German idea of fun in a set of cans. I'm not an audio snob but I have mixed and recorded for decades. My first impressions are like others--I heard details that I was missing. I've been using BeyerDT990pros which aren't high end but I thought they were very detailed until I heard the 30's. I'm working on classical stuff with high dynamics and fine details so after my first ten minutes I was pleasantly surprised to hear things that had gotten lost in the mix. I don't find them as comfortable because I wear glasses but I see them as an audio tool--a little discomfort is worth it. I don't mind there is no case--my impression is that Neumann is implying that these are built like a tank and don't need one. The cable is too long but better than too short. As some have said they are clinical but paradoxically lush. Most don't want to spend this kind of money on headphones but if you need a better reference of what you are doing these are pretty fabulous. I don't have a tuned room and I work a lot by gut. I think these will be giving me a technical edge.
