I have an older Hot Rod Deluxe with the “Eminence designed” for Fender speakers. And the amp always sounded decent to my ears for the most part. But I always planned on upgrading the speaker at some point. After hours or research I settled on the V-Type 8 ohm. I wasn’t disappointed I’ve played the speaker before, it’s stock in most of the Bassbreakers and other amps. But It really rounded out the cleans and added some depth to the tone of the Hot Rod. I always found the middle of the EQ barely noticeable with the Eminence designed speaker but came to life with the Celestion. Added some much needed flavour to the drive and more drive channel. Not in the ways of added rain or saturation. But it added bite to it with the noticeable mids and tamed those highs. I chose this speaker because it has more of that British flavour I like compared to the A type speaker and I found it had more headroom than the A type as well. Was much smoother on breaking up.
