I’ve always wanted a Les Paul. After several months of trying to pinpoint the right one I finally settled on this one. I’m glad I did. I picked it up used for a nice price at a nearby Long and McQuade. It was an ex-rental. The condition was excellent and it was perfectly set up. I knew I had to take it home at that price. It is a great sounding guitar. The 98t pro is an awesome humbucker. The distortion through a Boss DS-1 can literally replicate any 90s rock sound. The cleans are ok, a compression pedal fixes any problems other reviewers have complained about. I also like the stock humbucker in the neck and use it for all my cleans. The neck is one of the nicest features on this guitar. It’s a happy medium between a slim taper and a 59 in terms of size. The ebony fretboard feels and sounds sublime. The guitar weighs a few oz. shy of 9 lbs. A nice weight. The only negative I could pick on is the gold plating is wearing off the bridge a bit from palm muting and the pickup selector switch feels a bit cheap, but this is minor . I also had to sand down the top corner because it was sharp and hurt upper forearm when strumming. Everything considered, this is a fine Les Paul Custom from Epiphone.

Had this beauty for some time and it was great. Beautiful colour and sound and in my opinion, a great bargain if you are looking for an Epiphone LP Custom. Has a nice feeling neck and good weight to it and did I mention, it looks great!

The epiphone wino les paul custom is a great guitar for the price, it’s got a classic look and feel, solid construction, good materials and it sounds great. cosmetically i could only find one flaw in initial workmanship which was the binding very closest to the neck on the bass side was left un scraped. the pickups sound great with some crunch, big muff fuzz or high gain distortion but to me leave a bit to be desired as far as clean tones. For cleans the pickups seem to lack personality and are a bit flat to my ear. Hardware wise, the tuners are good, a graphtech nut is welcome addition, toggle switch feels sturdy, strap buttons where fine but i immediately swapped them out for a Dimarzio clip lock system as i would recommend on any Gibson. The bridge and tailpiece however after only being a year old have already started to shed their gold plating which tells me this is one place(in addition to the pickups) where they’ve cheaped out. Overall i do really enjoy this guitar and i’ll be holding onto it, i will however be investing a bit to make the guitar what it should be. new pickups, proper bridge and tailpiece with faber conversion posts and a nice set up from a luthier.

I've only had my Wino a few weeks now, but it's already became my number one. I'm fortunate enough to own the Epiphone Adam Jones Veil of Bees and now this Wino. My biggest problem is only deciding which one I want to play. The Wino arrived in flawless condition, fit, finish are stellar. I previously owned an Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Custom in Alpine White and sold it, as i didn't get along with the neck. This Cantrell model is a MUCH nicer guitar, with a hard case for only a few bucks more. If you're on the fence, just get it. You won't be sorry.

I had purchased a used inspired by gibson LP Standard gold top 50's a month ago and love it, particularly with the baseball bat neck. Just so chunky and substantial to play. Anyway, I had an urge to buy a Custom from the inspired seires while they are still available, thinking that if the Standard is so good, the Custom must be awesome.
Yes, it is awesome in many ways. I got the Wino instead of the black beauty since it came with a case and $100 gift card and has a number of improvements including JJ's custom neck profile which is a little thicker than the slim taper neck. She plays and sounds great.
I tried to trade the Standard but the trade value was too low so I kept her too. So glad I did. If I had to choose between the 2 of them, I think I might go with the Standard because the neck feels so wonderful to my taste.
Epiphone is getting a lot of love by the endless stream of reviewers online and I am a believer. My Gibson LP Traditional is much better than both in many ways but I don't play it much and will take the gold top out to jam with my friends without having to worry about it.
Three Les Pauls, yes, life is good. Enjoy while you can!

This one was an absolute blast to play! The neck was really comfortable and the pickups sounded great. Plus, it's a little lighter than most Les Paul Customs thanks to the weight relief. It costs a little more than Epiphone's other LPCs and I personally wish it came with locking tuners, but other than that, this is a great guitar. Probably one of the best I've played all year.

Epiphone is on a roll with the Jerry Cantrell Wino Les Paul Custom. Definitely add this guitar to the top of your "need it" lists of guitars to purchase. The QC is top rate, plays like a dream, and it has that special feel that is going to make you want to grab this guitar when you need that inspiration to make great music. Serious mojo indeed

I have owned mine for about a month. Great sounding with a ton of sustain. QC was perfect with no issues at all. I was a little disappointed it does not come with a COA.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

Great Additions
