Clean, clear, flat, transparent. Size-locking feature is excellent (if you do it right, gently, the clip will not break). Although I prefer mixing listening to my studio monitors, I like working with these cans when I need to check the mix for "headphone sound". BTW, it is quite symptomatic how much more expensive they are compared to when I bought them.

Rode quality is usually excellent, so I was excited when they announced an entry into the headphone space. However, I bought my cans in October 2022, and the plastic adjustment clip broke within a month (known defect). A few months later, the left side started dropping out. I find them uncomfortable for long listening sessions (subjective based on your head shape), as the band presses into the top of my head and the ear cups push on my lobes. Today, I finally gave up and bought some DT 770 Pros.

Reviews.com has rated this at 7.4 overall. They rated the Sennhieser HD58X at 8.2 based mainly on measurements. I have both. Aside from being closed back (great for recording) they sound equally flat and accurate. Extremely comfortable and I really like the size locking feature.

Best pair of headphones I've ever owned (cheaper than others better quality) 2 of 3 customers found this review helpful

These are by far the best headphones I've used in my life. I tried them on in store, after trying most of the sub $600-700 pairs. Not only did these sound much better but the suede feel to them, the memory foam, and the cable being replaceable and moveable to either side set these apart. An aluminum band, and milled hinges for each cup, these seem like they are being sold at a loss to build brand recognition for Rode in quality headphones. I would see these jumping up in price to 800 or more in a few months. I bought a second pair to keep on the shelf for when these break (if they ever do)
