Fusing advanced BOSS tone technologies into a sleek, ultra-modern hardware design, the inspiring GX-100 delivers top-level performance everywhere you play. Explore 32 AIRD amplifiers and over 170 effects derived from the flagship GT-1000, and craft great sounds in seconds with the intuitive color touch display. Up to 15 simultaneous effect blocks provide unlimited tone possibilities, coupled with deep real-time command via onboard footswitches, an expression pedal, and external control support.

Authentic Amps and Cabs
The GX-100 provides superior tone and natural tube amp feel in any playing situation, thanks to AIRD technology backed by the BOSS refined Tube Logic approach. AIRD is infused into the DNA of every GX-100 guitar and bass amplifier, while AIRD Output Select types let you perfectly tailor the sound for any destination, whether it's an amp input, FRFR monitor, or house PA. A wide selection of onboard speaker cabs are also available, plus slots for importing your own speaker IRs via USB.

Exceptional Effects
With over 170 top-quality effects from the vast BOSS library, you're able to realize nearly any sound you can imagine with the GX-100. Numerous overdrives and distortions are available, plus BOSS classics like Slow Gear, Octave, and more. There's also a diverse range of mod effects, delays, and reverbs, along with many effects specially tuned for bass. And with the send/return jacks, you can integrate favorite stomps or your amp's effects loop into the GX-100 ecosystem.

Craft Your Personal Voice
The GX-100 comes with 100 preset memories to start playing right away. But it's easy to edit them for your needs or build new ones from the ground up. Let your imagination run wild with 15 dedicated block types-including two amp blocks-and chain effects in series and parallel to create all types of sonic variations. And with 200 user memories, you're able to store enough onboard sounds to cover nearly any song or style.

Touch and Go
Sound creation and on-the-gig editing are simpler than ever with the GX-100. The vivid color touch display offers intuitive control of patch and effects selection, parameter tweaks, signal chain adjustments, and much more. The display works in harmony with the four knobs and page buttons on the panel, providing a frustration-free experience that keeps your attention focused on the music.

Custom Command
The GX-100 offers deep real-time control with eight custom footswitches and an expression pedal with toe switch. They come configured for patch/bank selection and patch-specific control, but you can freely reassign them to meet your unique needs. Switching into Manual mode provides direct stompbox-like control, and you can go even further with external control via footswitches, an expression pedal, or MIDI. There's also a jack to remotely switch channels on your amp with memory selection or an assigned footswitch.

Your Partner in Tone
In addition to stage use, the GX-100 excels as a USB audio interface for recording and performing with a computer. You can record directly into music production software, re-amp tracks, and monitor the overall sound through the GX-100's outputs. The headphones jack lets you practice anytime and anywhere, while the onboard looper is perfect for jamming, developing sounds and ideas, and extending your creative range while performing.

Go Deeper with BOSS Tone Studio
Using BOSS Tone Studio for macOS and Windows, you're able to tweak every GX-100 parameter, save sounds, and organize Livesets for different gigs from your computer. And with the optional Bluetooth® Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor, you can wirelessly adjust settings on the gig from the BOSS Tone Studio app on your mobile device and stream backing music from your device's library.

Q & A

Question: What should I choose: the ME-90 Guitar Multi-Effects Processor or the GX-100 ?
- asked on Oct 8, 2024
Answer: The GX-100 has more features and a touchscreen if it's within your budget. If you are looking for a great processor under $500, then the GX-100 is a good choice.

Incredible unit. Built solid. More features that we'll ever need...there's room to grow into it for sure. Coming from no pedals (but have PA speakers), this was the best way for us to experiment with effects and amps. Note, there is a bit of a learning curve to this unit, and we have barely scratched the surface. Unsure why some people complain about its size...I prefer the extra foot switches...it really isn't all that massive or heavy.

I want something extremely flexible that can let me set up as much as possible depending what I'm doing and I'm not dragging 20 pedals around. This thing is awesome. It's not that big, it's well-built, is fully programmable, has an expression pedal and while the interface could be better, it exposes a lot of power within the device and it's easy to set up. You may want higher quality sampling for recording but for live purposes this is fine. You can nitpick, but at this price point it's hard to beat. You have to make trade-offs to get this much functionality into a small $800 unit. Extensive and quality effects, good EQs and decent amp modelling---all with a split internal chain which you can set up pretty much however you like. BOSS/Roland know what they're doing with sound in my opinion and it shows here. These are good effects (and the compressor, particularly the MDP one, is very usable). There are are odd corner cases you can run into hinting at internal limitations within the DSP---amp modelling, overdrive and overtone effects don't always play well together for example---but I've never found it to be a significant issue. Just an awesome little thing overall. And you can set it to output instrument or line level, and as it does all amp modelling internally, I just plug it into my keyboard amp (or a PA) and it sounds exactly as I'd expect. TL;DR: I'm going to sell all my pedals.

I use this unit through DXR10 monitors, studio monitors and headphones. Great overall tones, but it does take some time to tweak to your gear and taste. The 'X'-Boss Amps are the best ones in the unit. USB connectivity is slow, when using desktop editor. Tried bluetooth/midi functionality with WIDI Jack, works good with iPad/iPhone editor App. The control and assign-ability of the buttons is fantastic, you can customize it for your own liking. The 8-buttons can be programmed to control virtually anything in the effects chain. The dual-amp effect chain is completely open, so you can drag/drop effects in any order you like. Tons of great Boss effects, although the pitch shift block is not its strong point, but works for de-tuning in a pinch. XLR outputs would have been great, but will make do with 1/4". Overall, at this price point it's a great unit.

I bought this a month ago and am still tweaking to get the right sound and balance for my Fender Twin tone master. It is a game changer for me and I really am enjoying it. I use my computer to edit the sounds and find it a breeze to use.

I used to play through giant pedalboards. I then used a Boss ME-80, then a Zoom G5n, then a Line 6 Pod Go. I liked all of them and would still use any of them in a pinch, but they all had their shortcomings.
The GX-100 blows all of them away. It sounds awesome. When i play a heavily overdriven chord, it sounds like it'll ring into feedback even when I play with headphones! This is the most authentic tubelike modeller I have used.
I have played this through the FX return of my amp and into my home studio. Sounds killer in both.
Main downside is that it's a bit cumbersome to split the signal regarding one with no cab for your amp, and one with cab for the PA. Doable but not smooth. Boss could fix this in a firmware update and I hope they do.
But this unit is what made me sell off my old modellers with no regrets. I don't need anything else.

Bought one so I coulld see if I could get use out of the onboard effects and found that no natter what I did , it totally destroyed the natural feel and sound of the amp I played through. Set all input/out parameters correctly and still no dice. The New Screen wasn't touch sensitive enough and a pain.

Honestly, it is an 800.00 color screen with no improvements in audio. Used through a tube amp its awful outside of clean tones and the overdrive sounds are choppy and digital with the typical digital clipping and boss sound envelope typical ot their digital sound.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
