Question: I have a Martin DJR-10E StreetMaster Dreadnought Junior Acoustic and in the next few months I have to take a couple of flights would this case would be ideal for this guitar, if not, what case would work?
- asked on Sep 2, 2024
Answer: This case could work on a flight however with the risk of a other luggage moving around it on a flight, it is best to gate check your guitar as you are about to board the plane. Just tell anyone working for the airline that you wish to gate check it and they will tag it and put it inside the plane and allow you to pick it up after the flight as you get off the plane. (as opposed to waiting for it to come through a carousel of suitcases)

At 4 months old the interior was coming unglued in 2 places (13 inches in length) - at 6 months old the black vinyl was coming unglued in 2 places also......both times I crazy glued it .....upon close inspection the interior is not uniformly attached - like hastily done - definitely not a quality item

I bought the YAC-6H but had to exchange it for the jumbo version as it didn't fit my Yamaha FG800 properly. The padding was being pulled down and off due to the size difference of the bottom of the guitar. If you do own that style of Yamaha Acoustic I would suggest you opt for the jumbo size case as it fits extremely well.

I am not happy with this guitar case. I bought a Martin GPCE16 guitar and the case scratched the neck big time. They hid the poor manufacturing of this case with their grey thin fluff, which what is underneath is a hard service that damages your guitar. Absolutely not happy with this guitar case. Now I have my dream guitar that I never thought I would ever have the money to buy, and within a week or so, it was damaged by many scratches in the back of the neck. I would like to warn others, to not buy this product. Very disappointed customer.

I bought one for my new Yamaha FS-TA, but the concert body guitar didn't fit well - it started pulling the glued liner off the case body. The salesman at L&M suggest it woudl break in, which was true, but I really had to be careful for weeks everytime I put it away. This was the only case they had available, but I wish I'd just gone elsewhere and tried out some other cases that were higher quality and that actually fit the Yamaha shape properly.

Bought this case for my Yamaha FG-820 and it fits like a glove. The case is generic but still good looking. Love the pocket/compartment. Spacious enough to put all maintenance essentials like capo, pegwinder, strings, picks, even a sandwich perhaps. The plush is fluffy and thick enough to prevent scratches or movement form the guitar. That case is A1.

Picked one of these up with a Grestch Electomatic Hollowbody guitar, and it fits it pretty snugly. The Gretsch-branded case is legitimately the exact same case, albeit with a logo on it, and it costs an extra $100. This one does fine.

I bought this case for around town use and home storage of my Taylor 114e, which came with a minimally protective gig bag. The fit is just right, and with no slop or need to stuff anything in to fill empty space. It's a good and much less expensive alternative to Taylor's Grand Auditorium case, which only fits that body style of guitar. The case has a mild VOC smell, like new plastic mixed with chocolate, but it's no big deal and it doesn't make the instrument smell. I would recommend getting a molded case for air travel or other situations where freight handlers don't handle with care - this case is good for just about everything else.

One would think cases would be legislated to have a type of new material tag sticker or warning . caution. declaration at time of Mfg and point of sale. And declaration as to what Adhesives are used and perhaps MSDS (Material safety data sheets) That being said this case is reliable and dependable and one of a handful I have purchased over the years.

I bought this for my Simon and Patrick acoustic. It fits perfectly. I like the compartment, but it could be a bit bigger. As it is, I have my capo, spare strings, tuner and picks in there. The case is fairly heavy, but not so heavy I can't move it around or carry it. There is a bit of a smell that others have mentioned but it diminishes after awhile. I think it smells similar to vanilla. I've had the case for about 3 months now, and no longer smell anything. And I never aired it out, it's had my guitar in the whole time. I like the cost. Any other hard shell case is way beyond what I had to spend, and I wanted something that would protect my guitar. The reason for 4.5 for quality is the weight. I mean, not super heavy, but could be lighter. I like that i can put a lock on the one latch. Overall, quite happy with this purchase. I know it will last a long time.

Yeah, it smells a little funky, no, I wouldn't drive over it, but overall it's a good hardshell case. I compared it with a number of other cases and this seemed to have comparable protection and was a better price (plus it was the best fit for my guitar - a Sigma dread). My only hesitation was that it is fairly heavy compared to some other cases.

I bought this for my daughter, but she hasn't been able to use it yet because of the strong aroma. It smells exactly like Play-Doh. I've been airing it out for nearly a week, and the smell has diminished but it is still there. I'll let it sit another week but if it still stinks I'm going to return this thing.

Literally. And it won't air out. Smells all right at first. After that it's just weird and won't go away. Ended up throwing it out as I don't want my guitars to reek like whatever they make these cases out of. Same with the electric one. Waste of money.

I wouldn't fly with nor would I run it over with my car as one reviewer wrote. The latches are cheap and I have to put electrical tape to get a tighter closure. It's a single braced neck rest (it should be double for the price.)
