The JV Modified Series combines classic aesthetics with modern playability to suit the needs of today's guitarist. Taking cues from the now highly sought-after "Japanese Vintage" reissues from the early '80s, JV Modified guitars are a refined take on a modern classic. The '60s Stratocaster has a resonant basswood body and is loaded with a set of three touch-sensitive vintage-style single-coil pickups for unmistakable Fender tone. A push-pull pot on Tone 2 adds the neck pickup for even more tonal possibilities. The Soft "V"-shaped maple neck has a silky-smooth satin finish and the 9.5" radius maple fingerboard and medium jumbo frets provide effortless playability. For the player seeking classic Fender instruments with a twist, the JV Modified Series delivers a unique combination of vintage Fender style and modern playability.

This is my first ever Fender Strat and I am loving it! Although, when I unboxed it, one of the saddle screws was missing, luckily it was in the bag. Great guitar, it just needs a proper setup. Also, as a Pink Floyd fan, it has the Gilmour 7-way switch (which is awesome), and I don’t need to drill a hole in the pickguard.

After trying out a US and a couple player series models, I picked up this JV and instantly fell in love. Very comfortable neck profile and smooth finish, pickups are right on point, resonates beautifully. It’s a perfect guitar…

Really a fine guitar. Was very surprised by the four bolt neck on a big headstock Strat. I had thought they were all that way. But apparently not.
Small or soft V Neck is really comfortable. Based on the late Sixties or '68 Strat not sure if the V was available back then. I suppose this is part of the update?
Would be nicer if the neck was thin and the trem a two point instead of six. That would have been a very worthwhile update in my opinion.
White and Maple Neck, Classic Hendrix. Top Drawer in this respect.
I was interested in this but can't get past the price and only a Basswood Body. It should be Alder. I don't have a problem with Basswood but Basswood and this price for me is too much for only being that second or third choice of woods. Pine would be even worse. Again not that I am against Pine either. It's the price for the materials that counts.
Made In Japan doesn't mean anything. Check out this instrument against the "Player" Strats and you will see. They are equal but with Alder Bodies and probably almost $400.00 less expensive.

Good day people, I have been playing guitar for over 35 years, started out as a strat guy, moved over to Les Paul and all over the place in between. Constantly trying to learn every style and genre, blues, RnB, rock to shredding. Wanted to get a good Strat and tried around 10 to 12 different Strats ranging ing from different Squires to the big dollar American ones and again everything in between and found myself constantly comparing this one to everything else. Pulled the trigger on this one and haven't put it down since. No regrets...amazing guitar!! Love the soft V neck, nothing like it, once you put a little time into playing, you will find that the shape makes sense and is very comfortable. The pickups are properly named fender touch sensitive vintage single coils and that they are...very dynamic. Add that this Strat comes with the Gilmore mod which with the push pull tone 2 nob, it will include the neck with the bridge in positions 1 and 2....very cool sonic options. Even sounds magnificent cranked on the red channel on my 5150. Mind blown with the build quality, feel and the tones one can get from this thing and I have honestly never seen a better cut nut...ever!! Well worth the money. Would advise to buy and would buy again, over and over again even if price was double. Kudos needs to go out to Brodie at the 8th street location here in Saskatoon as he was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant to deal with.

This is a really nice guitar. Seriously. It is the nicest neck I’ve ever played. The subtle v shape is very smooth. Push/activates neck pickup for some nice tones. You really get used to how light it is too. I’m in love with this guitar.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

Great Additions
