I wanted to sit in my basement, watch a ball game, and quietly practice scales or just noodle, without having to wear headphones or drag my cabinet out of the music room. This little guy is a great solution. It isn't loaded with features, and it doesn't sound fantastic, but it's exactly what I wanted. To be clear, it's a $120 (at time of writing) combo. Other reviewers seem to have had high expectations, and of course they were disappointed. This one is for unobtrusive practice and solo fun. Probably insufficient for jamming, unless you're in a pretty low-key situation. Still, it is rather louder than I expected. If your expectations are realistic it is a very good value.

I bought mine about two years ago so its no longer under warranty. I only used it when I wanted to practice with headphones while listening to tunes on my iPhone. It is set up great for that. I probably only used it a dozen times or so, but now it makes a horrible static noise and is unusable. Not worth taking to a repair shop as in my experience it would probably cost more to fix than replace. Poor quality.

I've owned it for a couple years and haven't had any issues. It's a bit weak in a band setting but that's to be expected with a 15 watt bass amp. This model doesn't have an on board overdrive which the other Rumble models have so if overdrive is important to you then get a pedal or the Rumble 40. I own a Warwick Streamer Rockbass with low output pickups and a Gretsch Junior Jet Bass with high output mini humbuckers that I run through a Fender Downtown Express pedal into the Rumble 15 and it all sounds good. Even without the pedal it sounds great just a bit hard to tame the volume when I'm using my Gretsch. Overall it's a great amp for beginners and bedroom players that don't need a ton of volume.

This is a marvelous starter bass amp. It has a great 3 band eq, a master volume, and a headphone output. It's weak in a band setting but it's a 15 wart bass amp so that's expected. An on board overdrive like the other Rumble models would be welcome. I have a Warwick Streamer Rockbass with low input pickups and a Gretsch Junior Jet Bass with high output mini humbuckers that I play with a Fender Downtown Express pedal going into the amp and it all sounds great through the amp. If you're just starting or are a bedroom player this amp is a great choice. I've owned it for a couple years and haven't experienced any issues.

After moving from a home to a condo, I wanted to get a small-ish amp for practice. Overall, this is a great little amp for $100 - as long you're ok with it's limitations. It's very compact and lightweight, is well assembled and finished and sounds quite good at moderate volumes and flat EQ. However, the 8" speaker didn't prove sufficient for my preferences. Although I dabble with in all styles of music, my primary focus is Reggae - especially dub and roots styles. This means rolling the highs and pushing the bass a fair bit to get that reggae sound. Unfortunately, even at moderate volumes, moderate eq settings, and using a passive bass, the speaker breaks-up quite badly. It doesn't appear to be capable of handling its own eq and modest 15W power. I ended-up exchanging this one for the 40W model, and I am pleased with the swap. The 40W is capable of producing the tones I'm looking for without any unwanted artefacts or speaker break-up. It's also surprisingly loud - things in my apartment rattle even with the gain/master almost all the way to the left. I look forward to seeing what this little guy can do when it's cranked-up a bit. If you can spare the scratch, I'd highly recommend looking at the 40W version of the Rumble instead. The 15W is only good for the most basic applications in that it lets you hear what you're playing, but that's pretty much it. Given the speaker issues and limitations at 15W, the 25W doesn't even make sense - it has the same speaker and as a result the extra power just seems like a waste.

Do you need a bass amplifier that can you can use to practice at home, jam with the band and record with? This little guy is your best friend. If your drummer is a hard hitter, I would recommend getting the next model up. Thanks, Fender!

Bought this in a financial pinch when I retook up the bass. I live in an apartment with neighbours below me. Its loud enough that I had to take the amp off the floor, it shakes the floor very well and holds a good tone even with a deep 5th string. Very very light weight. It was great to start, need a tad more oomph to gig with but with a mic infront of it its still clear.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
