I liked the idea so I got a pair of these. They are a nice tool, but I don't think they can replace regular rods. Doesn't have the woody snap of the real thing. Also, the shaft is fairly large and heavy, which makes it harder to play with a lighter touch. Unintented rimshots can be a problem. There's a bit of a learning curve. Don't expect to go straight from rods to this and get the same sound. That said, they are well made, and they deliver on their promise. Great product, just set your expecations.
