Purchased this as I had owned a Snark clip on tuner in the past that I thought was good, but this one is terribly inaccurate and slow (lags by a second or more). I end up resorting to tuning by ear, or using an amp simulator plugin when setup with my laptop.

This tuner paints in pretty broad strokes.
You can tune up with it and then play, a C-chord. Your EARS will tell you it's not in tune. But - the tuner says it is.
Take a more accurate tuner like a Korg Sledgehammer and it will say it's WAY off. You can tune it with that and the snark will say a very broad range of pitches reported by the Korg are all "in tune".
After tuning with the Korg, the C-chord sound right to my ears.
The Snark appears to have such fast tuning because it's not finely granular. It just gets you close and calls it "in tune" when it absolutely isn't. Your ears will tell you this.

I have one of these, and even when fully charged, it often doesn’t register when trying to tune my Taylor acoustic. You hit a string and nothing happens. I then turn it off and back on and nothing. Then another day it works but not the most accurate tuner. I’ve been playing since I’m 12 and I’m now 63 so not a newbie.

This is probably the best tool to quickly tune my Strat.
I had the original battery powered version which I used very much, but the watch battery died out too fast. It's awesome to have the rechargeable version of the Snark!!
Very very happy!!
