One of the many fine marches written by Frederick Joseph Ricketts under the nom-de-plume Kenneth J. Alford. Known as the British March King, he was a Commissioned Officer, and it was frowned upon at the time to be engaged in composing and publishing music since it was considered civilian commercial activity, hence the pen-name.
