What a great guitar overall for a good Price. Not a single flaw in terms of quality. Excellent build. Nice neck, a little thicker more like a 59 but not too chunky like a 57. Really nice weight just below 8 pounds. P90 pro pick up sound full and solid. Sound nice and sparkly when volume and tone are turned down on heavy distortion. What P90s are known for. CTS pots have excellent taper and and helped me shape more tonal possibilities as I had to get more creative with just one single coil. I am thinking about getting a spacer for the pickup to bring it closer to the strings for a more fuller sound. Apart from that it as an excellent quality guitar for a good price.

This was my first single pick up guitar, wow, so much fun, 2 weeks in and I cannot put it down. Out of the box and straight on stage and it just ripped. Looks great, good components and a nice fat neck but it’s all about the sound and feel of this thing. Went and tried a Gibson to compare and I’ll tell you to save your money. The difference is so minor it’s a no brainer, once you learn to milk the volume and tone knobs this little monster can do it all. 5 stars from me, bedroom to stage it’s the real deal

I own several U.S. Gibsons, Fenders, PRS and Gretsch Japan. I really wanted a Les Paul Junior to noodle with and leave out to play without fear of loss or damage in the house. The Gibson Les Paul Junior is absolutely ridiculously priced at $2,149. I mean really, a slab body with a P-90 pickup. I played one in the store and while it was nice, there was no way in the world it was worth $2,149.00 The build quality of this Epiphone is excellent, I found no flaws (and I inspected very closely). In particular, the tuners are superb with no lash or play whatsoever. I was pleasantly surprised as both Gibson and Epiphone "Kluson" type tuners I've had on past and present guitars have never been very good, having a lot of play/lash in the cheap mechanism. Not so with this particular guitar. Also, the fret work was much better than previous Epiphones I've played and owned. This is a common weak point and a typical but understandable cost saving measure to keep pricing down. I still had to clean, buff and polish the frets as they were typically a bit sticky, but there were no sharp ends or high frets (common on my previous Epiphones). The body on my guitar is a 3 piece with a top and back veneer that looks really nice. Colour and finish on the neck and body are flawless. The neck is very Gibson 50's fat but comfortable to play, which I love. Definitely not for the "slim 60's" crowd. The nut was well cut and clean. The lightening bolt bridge intonates very well with 10-46 strings and I found no issues with the accuracy of intonation once a did some minor adjustments - a HUGE improvement over the original Gibson LP Junior bridge. Electronics are good quality (CTS) and the Epiphone P-90 pickup is very good - both clean and driven, and I will not be changing it out. My only mild annoyance is the cheap plastic fret dots (really Dollar Store looking on an otherwise nice fretboard, even though it's Indian Laurel). This is not just a "good for the price" guitar, it truly is a very good quality instrument worthy of playing professionally with. I am very impressed with the improvements in quality that Epiphone has made in recent years. Try both the Gibson and Epiphone version of this guitar side by side if you can and see what you think. Honestly, Gibson should take note. I would recommend this Epiphone to anyone looking for a quality affordable guitar.

So a lot of folks put value on the name on the headstock and where a guitar is made and by whom. But I'm here to tell you, a quality guitar is a quality guitar. Plays great, sounds great. Action, intonation and tuning stability is great. The finish is beautiful. It's a no brainer. The Gibby version runs about 1900$ the epi runs a sub 500$. More than worth the money. So happy with this guitar. If you're an LP Junior fan just buy it. You wont be disappointed.

I have owned this Junior for a few months now, and I have to say, I love it! It's very well made and looks beautiful. The tuners work great and are very solid. The P90 pickup sounds fantastic, whether clean or with that awesome P90 growl! The body has a good weight to it, not light, but not super heavy. It's comfortable to wear. The neck is definitely chunkier than I'm used to but, even with my smaller hands, it feels good. I highly recommend checking one out. Big thumbs up!

Like title said next best thing to a Gibson junior. Neck is a bit phat but it is still manageable, That P90 pro offer great range of sound. The only draw back I got from this guitar is the glossy finish as it create insane prints.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
