I started using these strings on my Dobro about four years ago. I was in a small music store, their stock was low, and none of the typical resonator guitar strings were available. The young guy in the store made an educated guess, and suggested these would be good because of the plain third string. I have not used other strings on my Dobro since then! They handle altered tunings well, don't break, last long time, and they have a rich, fat sound that works well with a resonator. And the price is right!

I absolutely adore the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46 on my '61 Epiphone SG, it gives me the sound that i've been searching for awhile now, because i had Ernie Ball 9-42's on my '61 Epiphone SG and it didn't get the job done but with the Slinky 10-46's it has more of a brighter tone

I'm an intermediate guitar player, I used to use Gibson strings on my Epiphone Les Paul. My friend gave me this pack of strings telling me to try them out, I love them and I've never broken a string with them.

I have tinkered with other brands ( Dean Markley, Dunlop, Fender, Gibson and GHS Boomers) over the 40 years I have been playing and I always come back to these. They last longer and are harder to break. The strings I routinely get with Gibson or Fender guitars when new I always rip them off. I have tried Dunlop( too stiff), GHS( sound better and loud but break sooner). I have tried other gauges and I find 10s and above uncomfortable even in half step tuning. I have used 8s a long time ago but they are not heavy enough so have stuck to the pink package EBs almost always. And cheap too. I can't fathom spending nearly $20 for strings with coatings as I tend to change strings fairly often once the strings sound dull.

Great strings. I typically use the super slinkies but wanted to add a bit of low end without sacrificing the brightness of my tone. I'll probably go back to the super slinkies but that's just a personal preference, these are great strings.

I like em, they are easy on the hands. I usually play in E standard and Drop D tuning.. I have these on my Strat, arc 100 and mockingbird. They sound good and are good quality. I've never broken any strings. Can't go wrong for the price. I plan on doing some tinkering with other gauges though.

The world's best strings for under $7... how can you possibly go wrong? Ernie Ball could easily double the price and everyone would still use these things, so I give them a world of credit for keeping the price so ridiculously reasonable. I think they're the only strings I've ever bought. My SG loves 'em and I love the tone.

Pretty much the goto string . Tried them all. Never broke one -ever. Full range sounding . Nickel coated which has a pretty natural sound . Bend ,pull and tap away. Last along time although change depending how often you play . Easy to change with locking tuners.

I have tried lots of different strings over the years and I wound up settling on these for my current guitar (Peavey g-ninety). They sound sweet and powerful and they don't break, even when I torture them with the tremolo bar.
One thing about any Ernie Ball strings, especially if you are using a guitar with lock nuts, make sure the string is well and fully stretched the full length of the string before doing your final tuneup. They require a little more stretching and breaking in than other strings.

These are my favourite strings.
I have one of those Solo guitar kits i built myself. I prefer these on that as it makes the guitar sound really good for chords (with the thicker bottom strings), but at the same time having the thinner upper strings for bending and clear treble sound.
I also recommend trying their "cobalt" and "m-steel" variant of this gauge.
Though these are the most inexpensive of the different types, which is good for my general practise use.

This is exactly the gauge that my vintage 70's Strat likes best. I have been using these since the 80's. I have some other guitars that like the regular Slinky's better. These have been my favourite for a long time. This product thickens up my strat sound for sure. You cannot go wrong at this price for a reliable and quality product.

I've tried d?addarios, dean markleys, gibson and rotosound... these last longer and bring out a lot of harmonic content. This set combines the 3 upper strings of the 9s and the 3 lower from the 10s. Perfect combo for soloing and chunk.

These are my go to strings have been for many years. But I have a tendency to get curious about other strings and I have purchased and played about 90% of every other string brand available in North America and no matter what I keep coming back to these strings. They feel great, hold their tune and intonation very very well, very crisp and yet chunky nothing shrill about them. While other strings will sound dead or flat these keep going strong. I have never broken a string on stage or recording they just hold up to the test of time. I've even been lazy and not changed my strings for 6-8 months and they still sound brand new every time.

While there not for everyone because there so light and bendable, its worth while to give them a try.
After 40 years of playing and trying different strings I always come back to Ernie Ball Extra Slinkys, they just feel right.
Ernie Ball makes a really high quality guitar string,I've never had an issue with any set from them.
To use such a light gauge you might have to reset up your guitar to get the best out of them.

I've used these strings for 30+ years and they've never let me down. Some mention problems with string breakage, but I've only had 1 high E string unwind in all those years. In fact, one guitar (case queen) had one set of EB's on it for 30+ years and they never went bad. Sounded great, though it wasn't played much in those 30 years. Highly recommend them. If they are good enough for pretty much every guitar legend and their classic recordings and live performances, they are good enough for me.

I've been using these strings for the last 8 months Feb of last year I joined a band that plays in standard D & B tuning. And I cycled through several different gauges and brands until I finally settled on these strings for the B tuning. And these strings really hold up and sound unrelenting! We play metal and these strings had to be of been designed with metal players in mind and the price does not have you emptying your wallet every time you need a set.

Brilliant strings, stays in tune once worked in. Brighter than some other brands I've tried. Tone has bell like qualities when played clean, which makes for searing harmonics when the gain is dimed. Long lasting, and can take abuse without wearing out too quick. These are now my go-to strings, and I like experimenting with different brands. Don't buy these, they are better than you.
