His jazz credits include writing for Dizzy Gillespie, Cal Tjader, Hi-Lo's, Singers Unlimited, Donald Byrd and George Shearing, and in the pop/rock field for Prince, Robert Palmer, Paul McCartney (Flowers in the Dirt), the Debarge Family, The Jacksons, Marlin Jackson, Michael Jackson, Peabo Bryson, Rufus and Chaka Kahn and Earl Klugh.
