Baerenreiter Verlag Serenade in Bb major KV 361 (370a) ''Gran Partita'' - Mozart - Woodwind Ensemble - Parts Set
Additional Photos:
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Editors: Daniel N. Leeson, Neal Zaslaw,
Format: Parts Set
Instrumentation: Woodwind Ensemble [Oboe (2), Clarinet (in Bb) (2), Basset horn (Clarinet) (2), Bassoon (2), Horn (4), Double bass]
With its two oboes, two clarinets, two basset horns (clarinets 3 and 4), two bassoons, four horns and double bass, the "Gran Partita" is not only unique in Mozart's oeuvre but the largest work of the classic period scored for solo instruments. Although by definition a divertimento, it stands alongside the great genres of instrumental music - sonata, string quartet and symphony - with a richness of tone-colour and a density of texture unheard of in the wind ensemble repertoire of its time. This edition presents the work for the first time with the Urtext from the New Mozart Edition.
