I use this for my 14" x-hat set-up on the ride side of my kit. I have it attached to my crash stand and it reaches no problem. Build quality is top notch considering this is one of the lowest priced in it's category.
At first, the my hats were too heavy for the spring between them to have any kind of "open" sound, even with the nut loosened right off. But here is a tip to help with that: stretch the spring out good before you put the top hat on.
