Taking adaptability to new extremes, the AZ series has established itself and carved out a place that spans everything from the warmest blues licks, to the most intense, shred-heavy metal riffs. Carrying this ethos forward, the AZ line embodies time-tested Ibanez innovation and player-focused features like a smooth, oval neck grip, a well-balanced asymmetrical body shape, and the neck heel allowing for unrivaled playability.

Prestige
There are three principles behind the Ibanez Prestige line: Precision, Performance, and Playability. Prestige combines high-tech manufacturing techniques with old-world Japanese craftsmanship, in order to achieve true innovation in design and construction. The series incorporates ideas and suggestions from musicians from around the world as the cornerstones of the Prestige production process.

Features
• Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck: The S-TECH special roasted treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The neck is sealed with an oil finish which helps make it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck.
• Rosewood fretboard: Rosewood provides a well-balanced solid tone with a focused mid range.
• Jumbo Stainless Steel frets with Prestige fret edge treatment: Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response, good articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes. The Prestige Fret Edge Treatment guarantees effortlessly fast playing.
• Alder body: The Alder body delivers a well-balanced bright tone, enriched resonance and sustain.
• GOTOH® MAGNUM LOCK® machine heads have an established reputation for tuning stability. Its H.A.P.® (Height Adjustable Post) system allows for the adjustment of string posts for the appropriate tension of each string.
• Gotoh® T1702B tremolo bridge provides a quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings and its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm.
• dyna-MIX 9 switching system with Alter Switch offers nine sound variations and can switch between humbucker and single coil modes with just a flick of the mini switch. One mode even simulates a humbucking sound from the combination of two single coil pickups.
• Hardshell case (included) gives you extreme protects for your be-loved instrument.
• Oil-impregnated Bone nut provides superior tuning stability and warm rich resonance. Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance.
• Ergonomic rear body contour: A shallow body back contour and a big forearm contour make the guitar body fit the player naturally, thus increasing playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, making it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions.

Compact & light. Not a shredders guitar but more vintage vibe. Great for Blues! 1 of 1 customers found this review helpful

Seems to be marketed as a "'superstrat" on ytube etc. But , to me , this guitar is a better choice over the far more expensive Fender Ultra Strat, which I was looking at first. The quality of this product is 1st class throughout. Attention to detail is precise and i've never known a guitar that came out of the box in almost perfect shape, no set up required. Pretty low action for an Ibanez although not a wizard neck so don't expect this. It's built like a tank and would last a life time. I'm hoping the SS frets last longer than on most guitars since that is mainly the reason I got it. One thing you'll immediately notice is how compact it is. It's slightly smaller in dimension than the regular Strat shape, perfect for the smaller sized person, and this could be because the top body curve ,just above the two single coil p'ups dips deeper than on a Strat. So it looks sleeker and I suppose, that is the usual Ibanez shape anyhow except this shape is less pointy that other Ibanez shredder models As above, it's not really a shredders guitar. The action is higher and the neck takes some getting used to. Slightly bigger neck than expected but still very comfy even for small hands. Neck feels GREAT though, very smooth, no sharp edges . Very comfy contoured shape especially around where the neck meets body and it's very light in weight. The sound? Yeah, you have to tweak quite abit because the permutations are endless. Some pick up selections are louder than others, the ones where you engage the Alter Switch and then combine the humbucker with the single coils are best IMO . They are the warmest and best for Blues or Jazz, infact they pack a punch combined with a good OD pedal. The other single coil choices amount to the sound of a Telecaster more than a Strat actually. Personally , i've found using a transparent OD helps to warm up the characteristic sharpness of the stainless steel frets. The sound is basically very bright. But i'm still in the process of experimentation and the array of sounds is fascinatingly endless. Well worth the

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
