This guitar is super FUN!!! I haven't owned a guitar with a Floyd since the 90's. I feel a little silly it being pearl pink and all, but who cares! For a floyd guitar, the neck is a little chunky, but I got used to it pretty quickly. The Floyd is just fine and sets up really well. What really gets me is the switching options. Squier has been doing some very cool stuff lately and this little guitar is no exception. It is super flexible and does it ever RIP!!! We got it on sale brand new, and what a deal. My wife likes it so much she even bought it a pretty pink Fender case. hahahaha. Jokes aside, it has a LOT of tone in it and plays great.

The overall construction of this guitar is superb, and the Floyd is decent. Stays in tune for the most part. However, if you plan on using this as some sort of budget shredder, you should look elsewhere. The upper fret access is not that great even with the sculpted heal joint. I would say this is more of a "I'm interested in a Floyd Rose guitar but I don't want to blow a bunch of cash on a decent one" type of guitar. Or if you want to play 80's glam rock, this should be good for that. Otherwise, if you are into fast playing and shredding look elsewhere.

This thing blows my mind. The quality is superb, and it plays like an absolute dream. The Floyd stays in tune once you get it setup properly (not hard to do yourself) and will dive bomb for days. I can't believe the price point for the quality. I have the shell pink and it is a really nice finish. Don't hesitate, get this thing!!!

I decided to trade in a few of my cheaper guitars and get something I could invest in. Wow. I have this guitar in Gunmetal Grey, and it looks and sounds great!! It has a Floyd and a five-way switch, positions 2 and 4 give you a single sound. The last two times I took it out of the case, it was practically already in tune, which pleasantly surprised me. It is versatile and excellent quality, worth its price. I would def recommend it.

I really felt the need for an 80s shred machine but was on a budget and was looking for a Floyd Rose. This guitar seemed to have the right specs and had good reviews so I pulled the trigger on it. My initial idea was to mess with it for a while in its stock form and then perhaps upgrade it in the near future with the new pickups, tuners, and Floyd Rose. However, after pulling it out of the box, I was in for a pleasant surprise. First of all, the guitar was pretty much in tune which is surprising considering it's an affordable Squier coming from China in a box. I've had Fenders from Mexico that were not close to being in tune compared to this. The action was really good out of the box too. Considering the strings on cheaper guitars are usually crappy too, I was knocked off my chair how good it sounded. It really had that 80's bite and metallic sound I was looking for in a Floyd Rose guitar. The 5-way selector switch had all the usable positions to make this guitar very multi-purpose so it works great in clean as it does in heavy overdrive. I honestly will say that the stock pickups sound very good to me in all pickup positions and at this point I see no need to swap pickups. They sound great in humbucker and coil split positions. One area of concern to me is the durability of the Floyd Rose as it's a cheaper model, but so far while playing it has stayed in tune well. If it goes one day, I will gladly invest in a better Floyd Rpse as I really like the guitar and how it feels. The guitar is extremely lightweight and feels very balanced and well built. One area where the budget oriented build is noticeable is the fret edges, they feel a little bit rough but this is something that I could fix myself, though it doesn't really bother me. I'm really pleased with the roasted maple neck, it's beautiful to look at and the shape is really nice, the 12" radius and a thick C-shape profile work for my hands. The color of the guitar is a very light pink (maybe I would've preferred a bit more vibrant pink) with metallic flakes which may not be visible on the photos here. Very beautiful guitar in my opinion. Overall I'm having a blast with this guitar and I think it's great in stock form but might consider upgrades in the future if some parts like Floyd Rose let me down though it's doing fine right now. I definitely recommend it (for people that know how to deal with a Floyd Rose or have a friend that can teach them how to tune it).

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
