The new Decimator II and Decimator G String II now include a LINK IN and LINK OUT allowing two pedals to be linked via a common 1/8 inch Tip/Sleeve or Tip/Ring/Sleeve phone cord allowing both pedals noise reduction signal processing circuits to track the direct instrument input. With two Decimator II pedals linked the guitarist will get close to the same level of performance available in our professional Decimator ProRack G system in pedal form. This will now allow players to use one block of Decimator between the guitar and input of the amplifier, a second in the effects loop, use dual preamps in a system with a Decimator II after each pre-amp, or implement true stereo noise reduction systems using this link connection. Using the LINK function between two pedals allows a number of options. By using a standard Decimator II between the guitar and the input of the guitar rig and a second standard Decimator II inserted into the effects loop, the player can achieve the same basic performance of the professional Decimator ProRack G. The guitarist can also use a Decimator G String II at the front end of the system and build a true stereo noise reduction system by linking a standard Decimator Il pedal. This allows two totally independent channels of Decimator Noise Reduction, with separate inputs and outputs, to be inserted after a stereo Pre-amp or connected in a stereo guitar rig.

This pedal simply rules. If you play high gain metal such as a boosted Deicide/Cannibal Corpse type with a metal zone into a Mesa Rec or Marshall you need this pedal in your life. Turn it up just below 12 Noon and that is the sweet spot. I plug it straight into the input on my Mesa mini rec. It takes away any annoying sounds or amp hum without coloring the tone or doing anything annoying. It is simple and it just works. I don't hear any latency. The build quality is stunning, made in South Korea and it has a beautiful chrome finish as well as a solid weight. No cheap toys here! The Boss NS-2 is a frustrating, inferior product compared to this ISP Decimator. This is the noise gate to get!

Ohhhh it does decimate the unwanted believe me! Bought a Fender 75th Anniversary Telecaster. The 60hz hum was just killing the mood if my hands were off the guitar. Read reviews and went for ISP Decimator II. Well now it is heavenly silent Can not notice if the amp is on, and the Tele is just silent. A bit of tweaking the knob and misery comes to an end. Built like a Merkava Mk 4 tank!

I got one of these because I am running an overdrive pedal with a dyna comp compressor and single coils and the noise is just unbearable. I was disappointed with this pedal at first but all it took was a minute to find the sweet spot the threshold - it's a very very sensitive adjustment and it needs to be set perfectly. Once I found the spot I was blown away - the white noise, the 60 cycle single coil hum, and the awful howl of the compressor - completely gone. Can't even tell the amp is turned on. And absolutely no loss of tone whatsoever. This will be on my board forever, and it's built like a tank. Can't go wrong with one of these, 5 stars

First, thing thing is built like a tank, literally! All metal chromed body, it's heavy and feel solid. Second, it works very well. It reacts instantly to the guitar signal and resumes filtering the noise as soon as the input is cut. I use it with guitars that have P90's and it silences the amp when the guitar doesn't play. Remember that this is a noise gate: when there is a signal the noise will be present and mixed with the music. It is not filtering anything, which is in a sense good because the sound is not altered in any way. A bit pricey but it works very well and the body is made to last a lifetime, and beyond. Bonus: it comes with a free 9-volt battery!

It simply doesn't affect your tone negatively in any way. I cannot hear ANY difference to tone with it on or off. Works equally well on pickup noise as it does on noisy pedals. It will never leave my board. I rarely overdrive my amp but a number of my fuzz/OD/modulation pedals are annoying noisy so after 4/5 pedals being enabled it gets too much. This pedal ENDS it. Period.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
