Look, if you’ve been saving patiently waiting to get your hands on one of these, let me comfort you in your decision. It is 100% worth it. I own a Kemper - great unit - but is for someone who likes to tinker. Sounds great yada yada, I’ll keep it, but the QC is just far more powerful, and with about 4-5 min of patience, the system is so easy to use, that you’re up and running VERY quickly. The interface is intuitive and as easy as using your phone. THE TONE! I can barely bring myself to move from the first channel “IR” - just the options presented there, are a full STEAK dinner. The notes are clean - and the string response is “tight”. I’m glad that there is competition in this segment, but this little fella is RUGGED and STURDY. The foot switches turn like dials on a normal pedal or amplifier. You can pack this up and throw it in a backpack and be gone in 30 seconds. It’s also insanely powerful. Looper, super sensitive TURNER - SIMPLE TO USE. Buy one, you won’t regret it.

I've been playing electric guitar for 23 years. I owned a bunch of multi effects units/modelers, a bunch of legendary dedicated pedals, Tube amps, solid state amps, you name it and I feel like... because of how quickly I'm able to dial in exactly what I want and have any tool I desire now under my fingertips...that it's the best thing I've ever plugged into. It just makes me happy. It presents me with a modern day Ipad-like user experience.. and it doesn't easily run out of dsp. I was able to setup custom patches of my favorite amps quickly as presets. I can't stop raving about it to my wife and friends... ya.. 5 out of 5. 👏 bravo Neural.

I’ve been a pedalhead my whole life and was constantly swapping a myriad of pedals to different boards depending on what the gig was and who I was playing with be it solo, duo or band. I was always swapping things and had a big cooler full of pedals, cable and power supplies. My challenge is that I play an Emerald Virtuo which has both piezo and humbuckers out so I needed to run two active signal paths in as small a footprint as possible which my Helix didn't have the horsepower for. Getting older, I am always concerned with weight so when I saw the QC’s in stock, I went for it. Again….WOW. within literally 5 minutes, I had a smoking nice Marshall tone dialed in that I’m still using a few months later. Unlike the Helix, the QC is very intuitive and logical in its layout. I captured a few of my Strymon pedals and they are on the money. Everything from the Cortex Cloud to the amazing signal routing makes this an incredible music tool. Now I just have 1 pedal to do all of my tone. Simply amazing. As usual, L&M made it an easy acquisition with they’re first rate service.

Sounds great right out of the box. The interface is extremely intuitive and i was able to connect to cortex cloud and download addition presets without needing to read a manual. As i stated in the title, i traded in amps that i had spent years wanting when i bought the cortex. it honestly just sounds better. For an album, yeah you might want to break out the full stack in a nice room and toss a few mic's on it. for a live situation, bringing 100+lbs of fragile, expensive analog gear just doesn't make sense. add to that the extra noise and SPL interfering with the sound engineer's mix. imagine gigging and you just have to bring your guitar, QC and cables instead of cabs/heads/pedalboards etc... the sonic difference between a well dialed in and mic'd amp and the quad cortex aren't meaningful enough for it to make sense to hang on to the giant clunky legacy equipment.

The form factor, UI, and ease of use make the QC very appealing. Compared to other modelers on the market, the QC sounds *good* but as a kemper user for the past 6+ years, I was not blown away despite the marketing hype. The unit was extremely buggy and locked up on me during a live show, prompting a restart in between songs (take 2 minutes to boot). The power supply is cheap and gave a ground loop hum, making it borderline unusable for recording. To make matters worse, NDSP doesn’t really seem to be prioritizing the QC despite their promised at release. There’s still no editor, you can’t use their plugins with the unit yet, and software updates are slow and seemingly incomplete, sometimes breaking things that were fixed with a previous update. I ended up returning my unit and sticking with the Kemper, which has been flawless for me. I may re-visit the QC in a fee years (provided NDSP hasn’t forgotten about it by then) to see if some of the growing pains have been worked out.

Unbeatable sounds and VERY simple to use. After nearly 3 decades of tube amps I’m completely satisfied leaving them at home and bringing this for gigs. Could use more effects, but I’m told these are being developed. If you’re looking for a modelling unit to replace the amp, this is the only choice (note: I have not tried a Fractal yet). In any case, absolutely gobsmacked after capturing my boutique rig. Indistinguishable from the real thing. Most helpful piece of gear I’ve ever purchased. Would strongly recommend to anyone seeking to record direct or leave the amp at home.

I had a QC for about 6 months. The unit sounds incredible straight out of the box. It’s very easy to make great sounding personal presets without having to purchase other 3rd party IRs etc. However, the unit is severely lacking in effects. And also lacking in reliability. I purchased and within the 6 months I owned it, it failed during two live shows! Long + Mcq was very good about returning the unit for a full refund. I literally had a 2800.00 paperweight. This company released this unit probably two years too early. It’s just not ready for market yet!!! And has a lot of bugs in the software. I loved the unit when it was working well. But the unreliability of this unit has brought me back to Fractal. Give this company 2 years or so, and I think they will correct all these issues and quality control at the factory. But today… it’s a sad waste of a lot of money at this point…

I've been excited about getting this product for quite sometime. After placing the order and waiting 3 months I finally received it and am quite happy with it. It's a computer, so there is a lot going on a nd a lot to learn. The good thing is that it's very intuitive. Is it the best product in its category??? Not sure and probably not yet, but after 2 firmware updates I am very confident in the people at Neural and believe that this will be at the head of its class in no time. With tones and sounds similar to the other guys is the same category, the part that I really enjoy is its small footprint and portability. I'm sure I'll love this thing the more I use it and the more familiar I am with it and all of its nuances.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
