IRISH BODHRAN
Bodhrans are known for their earthy and warm tones. MEINL offers two different versions, a Celtic model featuring a cross bar and an Irish model that comes with an extra deep frame and a dampening layer on the head. The Irish Bodhran features an extra-deep shell for a rich, full sound, and an extra dampening layer on the rim to reduce overtones. The traditional cross brace has been removed to enable direct hand pressure on the head for contemporary pitch-bending techniques.

Great Bodhran for the price. Similar to any professional drum. A little work into the skin, and this thing is good to go (skins tend to be very dry when first purchased. Light sanding and treatments with dubbin or lanolin oil is all it needs). The skin quality seems very high, and the drum is very easy to play. The only issue I find is the depth is a little extreme for a 14" drum. Its hard to move the hand around the skin at the bottom due to the depth of the shell, but easy to find the same sounds in other places.
Great drum. Highly recommended.
