The neck on this is sooooo comfortable. It’s just a dream to play. This is the first single coil guitar I’ve owned in decades, so I’ve been focused on dialing in classic strat tones and this delivers full stop. Knopfler, Hendrix, SRV and then way more with the push/push tone pot. Now I want to get the matching Tele!

This Strat is not expensive if we consider that this is an USA made guitar. A quality guitar that feels great and sounds great. It is one my favorite guitars. No, it does not have the locking tuners, it does not have the stainless steel frets, and it does not have an roasted maple neck, and no binding. If you need those features then buy an imported guitar, but remember that these features are included on the expensive imported guitars to compensate for the major missing feature which is the genuine Fender tone. It you are looking for a guitar with the real Fender tone, than this is it.

The American Professional series showcases what classic Fender guitars are all about while adding enough modern features to make it contemporary without totally distracting from the vintage vibe. I originally pruchased an American Ultra Strat with a maple fretboard and while it's a quality instrument, it just didn't jive with me. As soon as I picked up the American Professional II Strat, my inner Strat geek shouted "YES !". The neck feels just right, the narrow-tall frets are impeccably finished and the floating trem setup is surprisingly stable for tuning. The only real complaint (and it is admittedly minor) is that the molded case doesn't seem to be quite the right fit for the guitar. The case that came with the American Ultra was perfect, and while this one is the same "style" of case, it seems a bit smaller. Maybe it's just a function of the Ultra having the smaller strap lock buttons as opposed to the Professional II's larger non-locking buttons.

After 15 years of having a bunch o wnnabes. , decided to sell the different guitars i had in my collection. All were good even very good. But never an American Or a proper high end. 2022 changed all that! Picked out my Dark night stratocaster stock. Paid and patiently waited! Also picked up an orange crush Rt35! Elijah called, guitar ( my Holy Grail) was shipped. Week later its in. Went to the store , opened the box! Wow!!! The Case was so professional looking. But The Axe inside was un real! Perfect in pretty much everyway. Set up down the middle 9’s . The finish was flawless. After 4 straight hours of playing the reality is … awesome! Sorry guys but the sound is a yard and half above the Mims both tele n strats! Squires are ok. The Professional pro ll is exactly that! This guitar , after going through all the different switches sounds amazing. My wife came home, said Wow i didnt you could really play like that! This DNPR2 makes you sound even bettee than you are. Inspires to learn and play everday allday .. lol! You cant go wrong! The neck is really all its hyped to be! Im thrilled to finally own an American strat. Love the case , looks good its solid.. the hinges are finally made properly! My only small wish for the case is to add a few extra seporate compartments. To separate strings , tuners, small pliers etc. but can honestly im very Impressed Fender! Call out to 149 st Ln Mcq Elijah and all the guys there! No pushing, no know it all Bs! Just very helpful and passionate to help you get what your dreamin of! Just waiting for my locking tuners to come in! If your thinking about it, you can afford too … Then DO IT!!! You will be here writing a review !!! From the moment i walked in!

There are so many things I love about this Strat. The neck profile and satin finish. The neck heel carve. The stainless steel trem block, comfy bridge screws, push/push tone pot to activate the bridge pup, killer pickups, put them all together and I have a Killer Strat!! Oh yeah forgot about the beautifully rolled neck edges!

After buying a cheap strat-like guitar and being disappointed I told myself it’s time to fork out the cheddar for a real strat. No surprises here, I’m quite pleased with the guitar.
From the moment you open the case and the sheer aroma of new American fender smell hits you, to the feel and sound of this thing...it’s worth every buck.
The neck edges are rolled wonderfully and it feels great to play. Woods look amazing and the paint job is spotless. You can tell they spent some time to finish and set it up well.
I love the regular single coils better than the noiseless stuff and to be frank on my amp I don’t have much if any noise anyways, even on heavy overdrive.
I would prefer having classic fender split top tuners or the locking ones for the ease of string changes but I guess for the dollar these ones will do. In addition instead of the push push tone knob for the Gilmore mod, I’d prefer having the Ibanez AZ style alternate wiring switch to give the guitar even more usable wiring options. Maybe an upgrade in the future.
Otherwise, a perfect strat. The tuning stability is insanely good (floating bridge setup). Very happy with this guitar.

I disagree with the reviewer who didn’t think these pickups are any good. These are the best Strat pickups I have come across, been playing since late 70’s. Pickups are such a subjective experience though, we all hear things differently. This is a solid axe, the pine model is very light. I didn’t like the tall frets so I had the lowered to a medium height, works for me!

The guitar construction itself is top of the line quality. The Pickups are the only thing I take issue with. To me they lack tonality and doesn't play well through overdrive pedals. I prefer the Fat 60's style pickups over the ones put in this guitar. The Shaw Pickups are not the way to go in my opinion. The Performer series sounds better as well.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
