The manufacturer does not go into detail on types of wood.

I purchased one 10 months ago in Calgary and loved it. Great sound and quality construction. Sadly, the skin let go and with no question or hesitation, Long & McQuade replaced it with what I feel is a better drum immediately. Thank you for great products and service.
