The classic Dove style acoustic first introduced at the legendary Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo in 1962 became one of the first acoustic guitars to become a recognized rock and roll icon. Now, both beginners and professionals can enjoy the classic sound of The Dove plugged in with the Fishman Sonitone soundhole preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup system, designed and built with the integrity you expect from Epiphone.

Unplugged, the Epiphone Dove Studio can easily drive an acoustic band. But plugged in, the Dove Studio can hold its own with drums and electric guitars.

Though there are many guitars that claim to be "historic" or "vintage" styled, only one comes with a Limited Lifetime Guarantee and Gibson 24/7/365 customer service and the experience of a century of guitar making. Start with the best. Visit your Long & McQuade store and plug in with the Epiphone Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric today.

Select Spruce Tonewood
The Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric has a beautiful Violinburst colour finish and features a solid spruce top with 5-ply white and black binding. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that begins to breath and improve with age the more its played. The more you play, the better it sounds!

The body back and sides are made from select maple for a punchy, bright tone. The body back has single ply white binding. The hard maple 25.5" scale neck has a SlimTaper "D" profile and is glued to the body using a dovetail joint and TitebondTM glue.

The Indian Laurel fingerboard has singly ply white binding and features a 12' radius with 20 medium frets, a 1.68 nut, and pearloid parallelogram inlays. The bridge is carved from Indian Laurel and has pearloid dove inlays just like vintage models. The saddle is compensated and is made from imitation bone. The classic Dove tortoise shell style pickguard is easy to spot on stage and is one of The Doves most famous features.

Fishman Sonitone Preamp and Fishman Sonicore Pickup
Epiphone is proud to re-introduce the classic Epiphone Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric with the superb Fishman Sonitone preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup system. Fishman is an industry leader in bringing a guitars true acoustic tone to bigger stages.

The Sonicore pickup is set underneath the saddle. The Sonitone sound-hole preamp is an active preamp mounted in the soundhole with easy-to-access mounted rotary controls for Master Volume and Tone adjustment. Now you can make your adjustments during soundcheck and even fine adjustments on-the-fly during your set. No more running back and forth to your amp or the soundboard! Finally, your tone is in your hands right where you need it. You can connect your Epiphone Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric to a PA or amp of your choice with a standard instrument cable.

Classic Epiphone Hardware
The Dove Studio comes with Grover 14:1 tuners and nickel strapbuttons, a combination " output jack and endpin, and D'Addario Phosphor (12-53) strings installed at the factory.

The Dove is a nice looking, quality guitar for a good price. It has a good, balanced sound. The electronics are adequate. A nice solid guitar for a great price point.

I spotted this at my local store and bought it when the Rocktober 2022 promotion came into effect. I was looking for a really good mid-range acoustic, and after trying out half of the guitars the store had in inventory, I bought it. I even compared it to way more expensive guitars like Gibson's, higher end Epiphone's, Taylor's and still came back to this one. It got a bubbling and sparking sound from the maple body is just amazing. I don't know if mine happens to be built on a Wednesday or something, but it's perfect!

Bought it as a first guitar and does it ever look and sound sweet. Sleek body and the neck on mine has flamed maple. Easy to play and set up was great. Masterbuilt strings sound great on this guitar. Bought it used at a super fantastic price( I think they messed up.) Was in new condition. Super value. I want a Gibson eventually but I'll always keep this Epiphone. It's a winner.

got a different guitar for a birthday present and brought it in just to look at what else was out there, saw this one used at the north Edmonton store, walked away and went back that afternoon and picked it up. Sounds great, plays beautifully, havent had the chance to plug it in yet so cant speak to the pickup quality. My only dig on it is the fret work, frets are a bit rought from fret 12 on, but a minor issue for an otherwise great guitar dont hesitate!! worth every penny

I never looked at Made in China guitars, but this guitar changed my thought on that. Very nice quality, and sounds great, The only negative i can say is the pickup is not that great..Other then that with a new set of Gibson master series strings on it, it sounds pretty nice...

My first acoustic. Tuning holds exceptionally well, very loud, great bass and fantastic highs. Quite good mids. Pickup isn't the greatest ever, but for the price you can't ask for more. Fantastic instrument to have by your side, durable and versatile, I've banged it up a lot but am yet to see a dent. It's even been rained on and the electronics work fine.

This guitar is a steal at the price, great to learn on or play regularly. Keeps in tune, the preamp is great and it all around feels comfortable. I've heard complaints about it sounding "twangy", the easy fix is replace the strings. The body itself is quite when you play softly, or carries well when you play a bit harder. Overall it's a great investment.

I bought this beauty about a month ago. Tried a few different guitars and settled on this one. Sounds great , better than some over priced supposed better brands. If you want the big names pay the price or buy this one. Sounds better. Nice low action and plays like butter. Love it.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
