A blues legend plugs in with the Fishman Sonitone and Sonicore System!

The Epiphone EL-00 Studio Acoustic/Electric guitar is a direct descendent of Epiphones original line of flattops going back to the golden age of acoustic guitars in the 1930s. The smaller "parlor" or "blues box" style acoustic guitar is favored by blues players of all eras for its compressed, woody tonal quality, short scale, and comfortable weight which makes it ideal for fingerpicking or the bark of a bottle neck slide. Now featuring the Fishman Sonitone soundhole preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup, the EL-00 Studio Acoustic/Electric can now plug-in and be heard on any size stage with first class acoustic/electric sound.

The EL-00 Studio Acoustic/Electric from Epiphone carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty featuring Gibson's 24/7/365 Customer Service that guarantees your blues machine against defects in materials or workmanship. Contact your favorite Authorized Epiphone Dealer and check out a guitarists best friend, the Epiphone EL-00 Studio Acoustic/Electric.

My earlier reviews spoke to the fact that the instrument was breaking in, and it's pretty much done that. After nearly three years I still love to pick up the guitar and play it...and that's not the case with some others. I have to say, however, that it plays really nicely. Fresh strings are the key however...

Found this guitar and it still is my main acoustic guitar. My friend who has a Taylor guitar was amazed as to how the sound is similar to his high end guitar for just a fraction of the price. It is because of the spruce too and mahogany body which you normally find on high end guitars . This guitar beats out all the guitars in this price category. The pickup is awesome and can be used professionally.

I've had this guitar since March, 2020, and over that year and a half I've discovered that the EL-00 is an even better instrument than I originally thought. It's probably due in part to the fact that the solid top is breaking in, but whatever the reason this guitar keeps getting better and better sounding. One tip: change your strings regularly.

I tried this out about a month ago but didn't purchase it because it sounded cheap and thin compared with my Yamaha LL6. But there was something about this instrument that stuck with me so I tried it again, still unplugged but with a heavier (1.0) VS .73 pick, and it sounded completely different and much, much better so I bought it. I still hadn't played it plugged in so I proceeded to do so, and I was blown away! For comparison purposes, I play it through my Yamaha THR5A acoustic amp. The bottom line is, go and buy one, it plays like an instrument twice the price!

This was the second Epiphone I tried out, and I can't say enough about its fit, finish and overall appearance. but when I played it acoustically the sound was thin with no mids or bass response. I didn't plug it in because I was looking for something that would mostly be played acoustically but with the ability to plug it in.

This is an awesome guitar and a definite keeper. I replaced the strings (top=light, medium=bottom) and tusq graph tech pin and it sings. Gave my Gibson L-00 to my kid and was looking for a small body guitar replacement that isn't as costly. Just stumbled upon this one. Definitely recommend it to anybody beginner or seasoned player.

This guitar screams Robert Johnson! I bought it because I wanted a little acoustic for playing down and dirty old-school vintage blues, and she delivers in spades! Sounds great on it's own as well as plugged in. The pickup does change the tone, but the essence of the guitar is still there, and the clarity and response is second to none. I gave it a nine on quality because the setup wasn't that great....buzz on the 13th fret, and the saddle has no grooves (which can make the guitar feel tight), but these are minor, five minute fix ups that are expected even on guitars in the $2000 price range. Overall, this is the best value in acoustic guitars for the blues on the market, and I look forward to making it my number one acoustic work horse in my arsenal of gear until the day I die.

This guitar is beautiful with a great sound and very affordable perfect for small gigs and it makes playing easier with how small the guitar is, very nice guitar overall. The only downside is the guitar does not come with a case although you can find one but it's costly as the shape and size of the guitar makes it hard to fit into any case other than the one specifically made for it.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
